A Journey Across GREECE (Everything Went Wrong)
It was a tough yet interesting three days of traveling on ferries, buses and taxis from the Greek island of Ithaki to mainland Greece and then to the island of Paxi.

Hear implies ‘to see’ as we’re not listening to a podcast. I agree with your comment about the reality of his travel. The truth is that it’s a lot of character-building days: cancellations, shit-accommodations, problem-solving, and amazing beaches and people and scenery. Travel isn’t all Elvis, unicorns, and Easter bunnies. Gabriel is down to earth and unfiltered. Reality is like that…it’s not always a shinny brochure…sometimes it’s the frustrating cracks in a large fold-up brochure.
Noooooooooo Gabriel!!! You skipped Lefkada? No way man! You have to visit Lefkada! The entire western coast of the island is absolutely phenomenal! One more tip from a seasoned lonely traveler: try to interact more with the local people! Human interactions are always fascinating to the KZread viewers and will give you many more subscribers!

Super video. Listening to your travel and transport adventures and overcoming any barriers put in your way is the perfect way to spend a wet Sunday morning in the UK and at the same time getting to see more of the stunning Greek Islands.

Great video . Gabriel, don't miss out on lefkada . It's truly beautiful and the beaches , out of this world.
Ioannina is definitely worth a visit. It has an amazing castle/fortress/fortified old town by the lake, and also a relatively small Archaeological museum in which there is, among other things, a wonderful section with exhibits from the ancient Oracle of Dodona, showing oracle tablets with the questions that people used to ask there very long time ago. The oracle itself is near by and a wonderful place. Oldest in ancient Greece and second in prestige and importance only to the famous oracle in Delphi, in Dodona priests used to tell the future by interpreting the rustling of oak leaves in the wind. As for Lefkada it is a really nice place to relax in. If you end up visiting do check out also the vast, always quite empty, and somewhat scattered ruins of the ancient Nicopolis, the City of Victory founded by Octavian after his victory over Mark Antony and Cleopatra at Actium - which is actually right across it and which you can see if you decide to climb/drive a bit up towards what used to be the Actium monument of Augustus and sneak inside with the goats, as I may or may not have done some years ago :)

Gabriel, i have been there. The turquoise blue water beach you are looking for is in Antipaxi. Nothing different than Maldives. Maybe better!!
I can't afford to travel so you take me to places I'll never go
Looks fantastic! I've always wanted to visit Greece
Your story reminds me of my trip to Greece 40 years ago. Apparently, COVID19 has thrown back tourism in Greece for decades.
Gabriel should move to Greece, he seems on the hype when being there in his ancestors homeland

Another beautiful video of Greece!! Love the stories of all the obstacles you face traveling, but like you say Gabriel everything does work out! Stay safe! 😊❤ waiting to see more of Greece! ❤🌊☀️😊
Hi Gabriel, The Greek Islands offer such incredible panoramic views. I think everybody relates a story to something that doesn't always go as planned there's no getting around that it happens and you have to improvise the situation in your case I'm guessing nothing is set in stone you find something to do.

Terrific, thanks for sharing the reality of travel! Although i do have to remind myself, things generally work out! Your Greek series has been amazing!
Getting caught up on your Greece adventures!! I think I'm heading to Europe in a couple weeks, I'm liking the look of Greece!!
Great video again! This is exactly what I have experienced on all my adventurous too. I get a bit annoyed if I have unlimited time and very annoyed if I have limited time. So the time constraint makes a huge difference in the way I do the travel. Having time is the greatest parameter when travelling. Taking a bit more chances and stumbling on unexpected adventures. These videos are great information. I have been to almost all countries in Europe (Iceland, San Marino and Netherlands left). When it comes to Greece I have only been to Athens. So I have so much beauty left to explore in Greece. Keep doing what you do, it is easy to feel the passion you have for this! Let's try to keep our passions as long as we can in life.
Your stories are very interesting to me ...I enjoy hearing you talk. Point or no point ... I always find a message in your adventure stories. Sometimes I see your wisdom in knowing who to ask for advice. I ALWAYS seem to catch a tip in each video on how to save money and enjoy the beauty of nature in each destination!
Soooo happy I found your channel! My family is from Kefalonia. Used to go every year when i was little but haven’t been back in 15 years. So many memories. Planning a trip this year there and the islands to explore. I’ll be following your route haha keep up the good work.
I like the stories and details, been a fan from the beginning.
Nice, visited Paxos 2015 when i went to Corfu, Gabe, if you are going to Corfu visit small Island of Vido, just 1 km from city of Corfu, lot of history from the World War I, when USA was on the same side with Serbia.
Wow.. you really have to be able to adapt to all kind of situations. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Travel realities at it's finest Gabe. I think that's what I enjoy the most about random locations and what that might entail while backpacking. You picked a great place on my list of places to tour and enjoy your videos. Still hopeful for a September blastoff and Greece might be it. Thank you
Always interesting and entertaining. Thanks Gabriel!
Hi Gabriel! I think when you're a traveler you should explain the pitfalls that can happen and unexpected events so other people can keep that in the back of their mind for their travels if they decide to go. I think you do a great job on your videos. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

Thank you for wonderful video! It is really interesting and useful! Plus motivate to travel!
Very Beautiful😊👍
Great Story and greetings from Grass Valley Gabriel. I enjoyed seeing that arch. It reminds me of the one in Cyprus on the south Coast.
This episode shows the difference between travel and resort package holidays. Sometimes destinations and schedule change to suit unknown circumstances. This was a typical Gabe episode - great! The waters still look so tempting for those still unable to travel. UK with a high rate of Delta (Indian) variant is still closed but still hoping back end of the season maybe ... if things improve perhaps the season may be extended in the south as I'm sure demand will be there.
Yeah...the city names are a bit difficult to pronounce 🙂, there is also Parga, where you can do daily trips to those main sights of Paxoi and antipaxoi.
good job Gabriel ! really enjoying seeing greece again
As you were walking through the forest and telling your story, you passed a lot of trees. Were any of them olive trees? What type of food did any of the farmers grow? We have been following you for years and enjoy your adventures. You let us see countries we will never get to see if not through your videos.

A traveler-friendly folding cycle entails chasing taxis less and great for general exploration between villages.
Whew those angles on the arch gave me butterflies!
great video almost to 500k subs incredible
Such a beautiful beach, place, and delicious food, and local people very humble and very nice. 👍this is for that men who gave you peanuts sir! 💸
Since you are far North. Ioanina, Metsovo are worthwhile visiting. Another side of Greece. Since you are there you could also visit Vergina tomb, Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki. Also consider Pelion when you will go due South again. You will not regret it.
Hey Gabriel, great story it is one of the reasons I like your channel, you always go with little planing and figure it out on the way or when you get there. I was hoping you would show going under water I thought that would be very interesting. I'm really enjoying this series of Greece. It's pretty rugged but beautiful and I think the most beautiful part is the water. You mentioned that Greece is going to open up on July 1st and that is the same day that Thailand is going to open up. The difference is they are only opening the island of phuket and after 14 days if you are still covid free they will let you go to the rest of Thailand. Looking forward to the next video my friend. Be careful, stay safe.
I enjoy your talks while travelling man, iam in the beginning of my travel life🥰🤩🤩
Love your videos! Me and my late uncle took an overnight ferry from Bari Italy to Igoumenitsa. Then caught a ferry to Corfu. Stayed there 4 nights. I want to go back and visit several islands in the future. Beautiful people and country😁
Gabriel you must wear closed toe shoes when hiking along those narrow trails, and pick up a stick and beat the bush to each side of you! There are vipers all over Greece!
Gorgeous arch!
Gia sou Gabriel I can’t wait for the next video, after I saw the spanakopita I paused the video and made myself one. Greece loves you buddy...I’m glad things turned up well for you
Gosh, such a complicated trip !!! When you are on Crete, during the winter, the busses goes twice a day. The fist goes at 6 am, the second and last one around midnight. You really need a car in this country 😏
I like the fact that you visit the islands off season. There are two small islands to the north of Corfu, othoni and erikousa... You might want to check them out... When there is a heat wave, north is the place to go. In Corfu especially on the north west coast, the waters are really cold.....
👍👍two thumbs up to gabriel!
The point is...where am i....going ?..love your spirit and enthusiasm...do you ever get lost..lol
Gabriel you are in my favorite part of Greece. I definitely suggest you to visit Leukada, which has some of the prettiest beaches in Greece. But you can also rent a car and take a tour on the mainland there. You can visit Parga, a very picturesque city with a castle and beautiful beaches, Sivota (you can rent your own boat there for a couple hours and visit the nearby islands and ofcourse Ioannina. The city has a great history and a beautiful lake with an island, From there you can also visit smaller towns and villages like the Metsovo and the Zagoroxwria and explore the mountainous Greece.
Great Video! By the way, how about visiting the following small Islands (Because i know you like smaller Islands) : Amouliani, Drenia, and Pena Islands next to Mount Athos peninsula in northeastern Greece !!! Charming small islands with picturesque sandy beaches and turquoise sea water.
Are there places in the world more beautiful than Greek islands in summer? I don't think so..... possibly Miami Beach but it's debatable.
Fantastic hope you go to Corfu ✌️👍
Hello Gabriel. You must go to Ioannina again, its excellent, there is a lake with a little island (not for swimming). And also great villages zagoroxoria near. And of course you must go samothraki
I followed you many years and addicted to your Amazing details about all the countries, thanks from boring California
Hi Gabriel, if you reached Paxi after so much adventures, don't miss Antipaxi, beaches Vutumi and Vrika .
I haven't explored much of western Greece myself yet. Cool to see from your videos! Hard when technical problems happen. I had a major screw up with an SD card that nearly wiped out a whole bunch of things I shot for my channel all of last month (luckily I was able to save enough to still make the videos!).

Good video. Enjoyed hearing all this. Interesting. Keep on travelling. A snake and a scorpion while walking !!!!!! You still wearing those sandals ????????
Are you planning to go back to the agean/cyclades this time? Can definitely recommend Folegandros, Sikinos, Schinoussa and Antiparos! I am going there sonn; maybe our roads cross.
Getting after that hike, the sea view was really phenomenal, but I wonder how the Tripitos Arch was formed? It might be some geological formation, need to know history behind this.
Your Greek videos are your beeest videos by far 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🙏🙏🙏🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷

The 'point' of this video is if you're constantly on the move you will pay the highest prices for transport, food, and lodging.

That's certainly true, it's always cheaper to stay somewhere longer term. But in this case I was screwed over by the ferry strike. If the bus had been going from Igoumenitsa to Agrinio then that would have saved me $200 on taxis, in which case the trip would have been pretty cheap. The ferries, buses, food and accommodation were all really inexpensive.
God bless you and your family
Have you ever been to Lake Powell AZ? My wife and I are going in a week or so.
Are those olive trees with the little walls around them? So interesting to see walls seemingly in the middle of nowhere. I couldn’t see if they were ancient or recent. Really enjoying seeing the Greek landscape.
That arch was beautiful. Unfortunately I didn't visit it when I was in Paxos. I hope you want miss Parga town and Joannina (it has beautiful lake front in the city center) since you are on that area. Also, you may search for Acheron river. People go rafting there and go by boat to the Acheron springs. I think you would like it.
