A Jewellery Studio that actually makes sense!

Ойын-сауық

I am so glad to finally have a bit of space to work with to set up my jewellery studio the way it make sense for me. I even have space for a mini packaging production line for orders and space for 4 people to do a workshop!

Such a beautiful and bright space to work in! Belgium really has the stuff together. They don't have to depend on another country for fossil fuels, their recycling program is top-notch too. I hate the fact that my vehicle depends on gas even if it processes it in a cleaner way, it still contributes to pollution. I rarely drive my car though. Once a month I go and get medical things and then it sits another 4 weeks. I have weekly garbage pickup, but rarely have more than a half-full bag at week's end. I recycle everything so that goes out weekly but general trash every other week for me. It never stinks in the hot summers, because nothing organic that can break down and smell horrible goes into it Food scraps go outside into either the compost pile or to my resident opossum and other critters. Side note: I had two female raccoons who came to the back door nightly for a treat of dehydrated papaya, which they loved! I didn't see them every night for about 2 weeks just sporadically then one night they both arrived with kits!! Baby raccoons are so adorable! I always put out water for the moms, but the kits were getting it dirty so I put a big bowl out for them and they would tussle over who got to sit in the bowl of water. It was our entertainment for the evening. We put chairs out and just watched until they scurried away. Anyway, why the big move to Belgium? I hear even with the environmental consciousness, it is supposed to be rather expensive to live there.

Sounds like you are doing a great job at saving the environment with all the recycling, little car use etc. Belgium's recycling scheme is actually pretty good 👍. Belgium is also a lot cheaper compared to London where we used to live. What about you where abouts do you live?

Hi Emile, nice to see you. Good fun and very educational, seeing other peoples studios. Especially the way they organize things. Nice healthy looking space you have. Get lots done there. In the past, I have scaled all the furniture down and cut out bits of paper to scaled size, so I can move the bits of paper around on the scaled plan of the room, to see what will fit where. You guys make a good team.

Hi Beth, yay! So glad you are enjoying the videos! I actually got the wood for the top from the hardware store here in Belgium called Brico, but it's basically a countertop. 😉 I have a video showing me making it. Here's the link kzread.info/dash/bejne/dq6BzdqTkcmceso.html
