Quarter sawn is more dimensionally stable. I've never heard woodworkers say it's stronger than plain sawn. The wood grain is typically aligned along the neck even in inexpensive guitars. I do agree quarter sawn is better for necks since stability is very important, but it's not a strength issue.

If someone told me that the owner participates in a lot of the hands on stuff coming out of the factory, I wouldnt believe it really. Not to knock owners who move away from that stuff to focus on other things, but that is such a flex for Jeff to be so involved and hands on. I love that so much about Kiesel and I don't even own one! It was a conversation between two guys who have extreme expert-level depth in their knowledge of guitars and how they're made doing a show-and-tell at a guitar factory. There were so many gorgeous finishes on those guitars. Jeff mentioned that "Monster Burst" wasn't on the builder so I Googled it and it looks amazing (of course) and now I wonder what else isn't on the builder that looks awesome.

What an incredible group of people there at Kiesel. Jeff has so many variables to tend to, and yet does it with such grace and precision. It truly is amazing the amount of their guitars built and sold annually. Great job Phillip asking the right questions and your overall interaction with Jeff. I watched this beginning to end.

I still own my Carvin H-S-S Bolt Flame-Top w/Birds-eye maple neck, and Wilkinson tremolo that I bought new in 2004. It still plays and looks amazing. I paid $828.00 and is worth every penny! Unfortunately, I can’t afford a new Kiesel today but if you can, you won’t be disappointed at the quality and playability. I also bought new in 1984 (and still own) their X-60 tube amp with 6l6 tubes and Celestion G70-12 speaker. Sorry to see the amp and electronics division close. I would have liked to own their V-3m amp as well. BTW - great vlog on the tour of Kiesels shop/factory. Chris

Just an amazing tour and look at how they do things. I wasn’t really familiar with Keisel, they are making beautiful guitars, with an amazing eye to QC and design. Truly impressive.

It’s obvious that Kiesel’s quality exceeds that of Gibson or Fender. They are works of art.

The fact everything is done in house is very cool. Love seeing this since I have a manufacturing background and love to see how stuff is made and set up.

I absolutely love my Carvin. It's about 20 years old now. I got EXACTLY what I wanted on it. The only thing I've changed it has been the strings and the strap locks. I can go years without a truss rod adjustment
