I miss the old Cracked. I do not even go to the site anymore. I think more companies should focus on that smaller circle. I have seen things I like lose fans because executives say stuff like "Forget the fans we already have, lets focus on pleasing the people who do not watch our product." It is sad to see people focused on the money lose sight of what makes something appealing. I miss After Hours.

Agree on all points. I've seen it become incredibly lazy. I can't imagine old Cracked posting a list made solely of years old Reddit comments with no original text to go with it, which is something I've seen new Cracked do several times now. (And Pictofact isn't the same as that, that was made in collaboration with Cracked readers.)

Cracked is dead to me and it makes me sad. But it makes me appreciate Quick Question (and Small Beans, and that other one I always forget the name of) that much more

Ugh my heart. Cracked was all I ever read in college. Every day I would eat lunch in the cafeteria, reading like 5 cracked articles and eat my veggie sandwich, for like 5 years. Cracked means so much to me it’s crazy. I haven’t looked at it in like 8 years though.

Personally the idea of prepping a hot sandwich knowing I'm gonna cold store it for later is wild.

The old days of Cracked and the way those concepts permeated the internet was fascinating to watch. The Pixar Theory was just inescapable for a while there, and I really miss the camaraderie in the comments. Even though I only lurked there, it felt like checking in with friends. Thanks for being around still - can't go back, but we can all go forward together ^_^

On the subject of sandwiches: I am, to my knowledge, not autistic. But throughout my life there have been moments where I go “okay but maybe” and one of those times was the two months or so as a teenager where, when given the opportunity, I would eat a very specific ham and Swiss sandwich for one to three meals a day. It was a comfort meal and the best thing ever made. It was cheap and terrible and delicious- the square Oscar Meyer ham, HEB brand Swiss cheese slices, the cheapest white bread possible, and a little mayo on one piece of bread and a little mustard on the other.

Tomato and mayo is for real magic!! I eat almost solely warm/hot sandwiches, but cold is better. Try peanut butter and tomato

Daniel nailed the problem with AI in creative jobs. I'm a graphic designer and I hear all the time from other designers that AI will never replace our jobs because they could never do it as good as a real creative human mind. They don't realize the people signing our paychecks are usually people who don't know good from bad design. Like, I can tell the difference between a $5,000 logo and a free AI generated logo. That doesn't mean the client / boss can. And if they can't tell why it's bad, but they can save $5,000 by using the free one, they're going to do that.

But throughout my life there have been moments where I go “okay but maybe” and one of those times was the two months or so as a teenager where, when given the opportunity, I would eat a very specific ham and Swiss sandwich for one to three meals a day. I would get concerningly disappointed or even a lil upset if I could not have it at least once a day. It was a comfort meal and the best thing ever made. It was cheap and terrible and delicious- the square Oscar Meyer ham, HEB brand Swiss cheese slices, the cheapest white bread possible, and a little mayo on one piece of bread and a little mustard on the other. Once I finally managed to break the habit, I stopped buying more than one of the ingredients at a time to avoid ever falling back in the pit, no matter how badly I wanted it.

I'm so mad I didn't know about your show until now, like you started in 2019 and I had no idea. I've been following everyone else for the most part, small beans, some more news, behind the bastards, gamefully unemployed, from their conceptions. Yet this whole time your pods been here the whole time, why did it take me to someone long to find it, Google sucks man.

Every time I've been on a boat, I've packed a basic ham and american cheese on regular sliced bread with light mayo. I will NEVER eat this sandwich otherwise.
