A historical walk through Stockholm, part 2: Humlegården.
Humlegården is in the northern part of central Stockholm, Sweden. The park was opened for the Royals in 1619 and has been important in Stockholm history ever since. In the 1800s there was a huge merry-go-round here and there have also been cattle here important for food and milk production. And of course hops, humle means hops, and since beer has been the main beverage for people during many hundred of years in Sweden, the hops had to be grown somewhere and still you can find hops in Humlegården.
Maybe some of you can help me with the names of the trees in the video? Unlike Carl von Linné I don't know much about biology or plants.
I show you around the Royal library, the Carl von Linné-statue, Hjalmar Söderberg and Fredrika Bremer statues and of course the lovely park.
