I have been scouring the internet to understand how quality commercial tomatoes are grown. I loved the close ups here of how the plants are pruned and supported along twisted twine...and that heavier bundles of tomatoes are supported by hooks suspended from the twine above. THe hooks are placed such that they form a 90 degree angle with the originating stem of the tomato bundle. I would love to understand more about the soil and hydroponic factors of these greenhouses....and the length of production from these plants.

The length is 2 years from the day of plantation. The soil is cocobit. But in general there is a lot of agronomist work. Big threat of diseases…

Collaboration among farmers is facilitated by the use of modern agriculture machines.

Very highly doubt it. They most likely unksilled/semi-skilled workers, they work a lot for very cheap. I doubt that even the one who trained them have any paper in the filed, mostly likely they teach the skills to each other for free. I have worked as "semi-skilled " workers in many fileds (not in agriculture, but would like to try) I highly doubt that they have ever even talked with anyone with an education in agriculture not even talking about Phd, just any formal education with paper. They not going to pay someone 30-50x more to pick/plant tomato.
