I'm going to try to enter my latest film into this. I finished shooting today, and I'm going to try to poweredit it over the weekend, but since It's 20-30 minutes long I don't know what to expect. If I don't finish it in time just know I tried everything I possibly could to get it in here!

ive typed out the story, and why so fast, because it has to do with a story i was making. i just had to configure some things like more fights , i tiny bit more talk, and take out the blood and gore. there was gonna be a scene where he was holding he head of the king of ushinga. (you'll see who that it is when the video is finished) And btw thanks fancy pants for giving us more time

This looks like an exciting contest with its relatively broad theme. Although I assume you can also make a film about a heroine?! Also I suggest that you create a thread on BiM for this.

i have been a big fan of brick filming for a long time and i have 1 major problem, it legos, people who make brickfilms usually have a lego collection beforehand and everything else after, it6s the other way around for me i have all the stuff to do it but what can i do to actually acquire legos? i have booght a few sets but sets obviously dont make up for all the means of a lego colection that is needed for brick filming... what do i do?

What if the blood isn't colored and is being watched from a decent distance?

It should be fine, Fancypants does star wars "originals" all the time, i think he means original story, not original franchise.

Does it have to be LEGO or could it be Mega Bloks?

Yes, any setting is allowed.

so say i was doing a superheroes journey would i have to start from them getting their powers and getting used to them and then defeat the villian at the end or could it be like opening scene u see the guy has telekinesis someone dies (without any blood of course) telekinetic guy tracks down killer and brings him to justice end credits or can it be both? btw go ahead and steal the plotline i used and be accused of unoriginality i dont care

When you say light do you mean quiet? Usually in your editing program you can control the volume of your voice overs.

Fancy Pants can I have people being shot with arrows. because I'm doing Green Arrow. it's just going to show a small red lego peice with half a Lego arrow sticking out of it. if not I don't have to show the arrows.

Also can the entire story not just be about the hero? There are other important characters. The hero's biggest role comes only in the end of the story.

Hey fancy pants I tried sending my brick film to you but it was to long and I can't do it through twitter because I don't have it. Also I made a the hobbit lego film and it has violence and one scene where an Orc gets his head cut off but there is no blood or anything and I was just wondering if that was ok?

Hey Fancy Pants, what do you think about After Effects cc? I thought much about subscribing it but I don't know if it's worth the money. I think it costs like 25$ and it has some realy good features. MisteryStudios I think it's worth the investment if you commit yourself to learning it and using it often. If you can learn the software really well it can definitely add to your films.

Fancy Pants I use After Effects CS6. It's very good. I'd definitely recommend it. If you have the money and patience to use it, you can do great things with it.

This is suppost to be a open fun contest but how are the people with only iphones to make films beat the the people that spent thousands of dollars on cameras and edit programs , all i have to make a brickfilm is a Iphone 4 and a 254 dollar laptop , i'll never enter one of them because i know i can never win against the 30 year old dudes that spent all there money on cameras and edit program

Matthew Scime I don't think so. Based on feedback that I've been getting monthly contests are a bit much. But I'll probably do more in the future, right now I'm focused on doing my own animations :)

im sorry if i offended you, i didn't mean to be disrespectful i do stop motion too and i know how much time it takes, in fact i plan to make a contest that will push new stop motioners and will help my channel to grow, but definetly the most benefit from contest goes for the one who makes it cause you get views from other peoples work, so i think it will be fair to put prices that are atractive to people and not necesarily money, i have even won a really nice 2nd place figure wich was awesome. So i would like to return the favor and give some damn nice figures for the time and efort people put in videos... im just sayin dude don't get me wrong im a big fan of fancy pants work

PancakeplanetProductions exacly, they are very expensive, but don't get me wrong please, i know he is investing money on making the contest and i encourage that, my apologys if i ofended someone about money.... i didn't mean it was few money, i mean its very time consuming to make stop motions and maybe the price could be an used cool toy or something else like a trypod, a light, props i don't know, so people will be more interested on entering the contest ( i know a lot are already, i wish i could) but not necesarly money. You are right i don't have brick films, but check my others and tell me if i suck at it or if i don't know what i am talking about (stop motion)

Would the losing of limbs count as gore? Such as, a person is beheaded (No blood) and then comically gropes around while the head shouts where it is?
