This might actually be one of the best Zelda trailers I’ve ever seen. Absolutely nails what Zelda is *supposed* to feel like.

I can't wait to get back into Skyward Sword. The OST is one of the best for Zelda games. For those that played BoTW first, this is more of a traditional Zelda game in that it is more linear and it revolves around AMAZING dungeons, weapons, puzzles and music! However, there are some crafting /upgrade mechanism (a first for the Zelda series at the time) which was expanded on in BoTW.

Botw was the first Zelda game on console but I started Oot and Alttp on emulators. Can’t wait to play this one!

I’ve played this game ever since I was little, it will always be so deep in my heart, as my brother introduced it to me as my first Zelda game. He sadly passed away from a heart defect, RIP Kyle ❤️🦅 I’m sure he’d be proud of my progress in Zelda games.

@@marcelosandoval8719 I’ve only seen bits, but since they started you at 6 hearts still in the 1st trailer, they didn’t break down the extra hearts for new side quests. Even though that was months ago and changes could have happened. I haven’t seen the beginning 6 since that trailer. But it’s definitely not a straight port. I assume they fixed Fi and the obnoxious redundant explanations. So it’ll be way better for those that couldn’t get past that.

Romance in the air is the best music in the Legend of Zelda series.

Notice in the beginning of the vid, the Breath of the Wild and Twilight Princess references. This proves that all of the dots are connected in the Legend of Zelda universe.

I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again - Nintendo literally never fails in the music department when it comes to their games. One of the things I’m excited the most for this game is just the absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. I still have my 25th anniversary orchestral CD AND I got to see it live in SF. Next week I am pausing EVERY game that I am currently working on and dedicating all of time to this masterpiece again.

Despite all the negative comments about this port or the game in general, it’s still amazing. Your in for a treat with this. Also honestly this has some of my most favorite dungeon design to date. Nostalgia partway speaks for that but I also honestly feel the soundtrack is very underrated.

Controversy mainly stemmed from the fact that it was a Wii release based around motion controls. Wii was already an iffy console for “gamers” to play on, then you add in the extra work/calibration to play, along with the lack of support for left-handed players and you get... that. Great game, poor execution. They seem to have learned from their mistakes, though, because all the info we’ve got this last week seems they’re genuinely trying to put SS on the map.

Personally, my favorite game on the Wii, and certainly the best use of motion controls. I get that people don't like the change to motion controls and slower combat that comes with it, but it's so much more fun and dynamic than pressing a button. I'm still behind on playing Zelda games (still waiting on a port of OOT), but this also seems to be the most story-driven Zelda game.

I think it’ll be like Final Fantasy 12. It got a lot of hate and criticism when it was first released on PS2 but when it was remastered for the PS4 era, it’s since gotten a lot more love and appreciation. I suspect the same will happen with Skyward Sword.

@DOAX DIVAS it's as Cheerleader Link. Wind waker got a lot of hate when it first came out because of the "childish artstyle". There is a reason why Twilight Princess, the next Zelda game, look so grim and "mature".

To all who haven't played skyward sword, be ready for the absolute panic maker that is the silent realms.

Skyward sword is such a great game maybe even better than botw depending on your preference. Clock in 10hrs first time playing this game it was really good.

You know, this is one of those perfect gems to play over again.. and also because I have sold my Wii almost a decade ago with Skyward Sword… So yes Nintendo, I’ll be buying the game

I always thought the motion control in this game was good honestly. It was only ever janky when stabbing forward in a particular boss fight. Otherwise literally everything else worked fine. This game definitely has the most interesting combat in all the series and pretty good dungeons. I think the claims of waggle and motion control problems was blown super out of proportion. I had almost no issues.

It will be a million times better. The Wii was a trendsetting for motion technology. Now, if you play games like Ring Fit you can see how much more accurate it is. IMO, people don’t like the motion controls because you gotta do some moving while playing Zelda. Personally, I love it. Burn some calories while kicking some booty!

I personally believe that most people complaining about the motion controls would just swing around madly instead of having even the slightest semblance of precision or thought behind their movement. It really wasn't that bad.

The only time it didn't work for me was anytime you had to play the harp. Fuxk that lumpy pumpkin sidequest was traumatizing

Probably the best actually story bits in a Zelda game

0:40 gave me chills

"Before Link Awakened" "Before Twilight Fell" Nice wording you got there Nintendo.

The editing of this trailer with the music is top-notch!! Hehe in my mind the game already looked so beautiful in memories, but seeing it all so crystal clear and defined is mesmerizing!♡♡♡

This is my favorite Zelda game of all time. I'm honestly tearing up at how well this trailer does it justice. I know lots of people hated on it when I came out but I really hope people give it a chance with this remaster. I'm so excited!

You should try Link to the Past if you get a chance. It will probably become your new favorite though.

Don’t know how many times I’ve played the original but this put me to tears. The nostalgia, the music, I mean, Link and Zelda in one vid is enough to do the job. The Zelda series is forever a Love of mine

My greatest shame, Never finishing this game, soon to be rectified.

@Werlux I too never completed this game! I got to Demise, and never completed it. I think by the time I got to Demise, I just said f... it and didn't finish it. The game had worn me out to the point where I didn't care anymore. Perhaps this rerelease is a second chance?

I'm sure there is more advertising and hype around this edition than when it came out on the Wii. I remember being surprised years after it came out, not realising that it was a thing

God skyward sword brings back so many memories of crawling through dungeons and fighting giant enemies who actually felt like a challenge. Don't get me wrong breathe of the wild is great but it just doesn't have the same sway as the older games. Twilight princess is among my favorites.

The more I see of this game the more hyped I am to return to it! It's almost been 10 years since I first beat the game on the Wii and I'm excited to do it again!

Just wanna take a moment and thank the hard working video editors putting their time and effort into these beautiful ads, I feel almost 10 years younger

I love this game so much. Definitely my favorite in the series. So glad it's back in the lime light again.

I forgot how many cool bosses and dungeons there are in this game. I’m looking forward to playing even more now!

Same. I never shed a tear when my mother died in a horrific car accident, but I'm crying over this. :)

I remember standing in line for this with my first boyfriend who had no clue about gaming and then watching as he finally bought his first real game that wasn’t a football. Now we’ve been engaged forever and we fight over every console and game available. GOOD TIMES.

Can’t wait didn’t play it on Wii, Would love to see Twilight Princess come on the Switch too

This game probably has the best soundtrack in the franchise's history.

I played Skyward Sword several times already but I'm excited to play it again. And this trailer gave me goosebumps lol.

YAY they have made the motion controls EVEN BETTER I grew up with this game and I’ve followed the LOZ series since it. This game got me into gaming. The trailer is so well done, please give whoever made it a raise! Marry me Nintendo, this makes up for yesterday my god-

Listen, I dont know any of you, but somehow I feel a connection between strong Zelda fans such as ourselves, we get to enjoy another Zelda release, and that feels great. Go into it with an open mind (it's not Breath of the Wild at all, in terms of exploration). But it has one of the best stories and character developments in the series.

This really felt like yesterday! Robin Williams in the Nintendo ad is the reason I was drawn to the game since he too is a Zelda fan. RIP legend.

I had such a joy playing through this story when I was younger.. I'm so Glad I pre-ordered it!!!! For anyone out there saying that they still won't play it because of the controls? Stop swinging it like crazy and get good? Haha hope the switch and these lovely graphics will change your hearts

Love how much love they're giving this game with the marketing.

I remember when the game first came out. I remember when I got it for christmas. I remember how amazed I was with the world and mechanics. I remember how my mind was blown away when I realized that the Ballad of the Goddess is Zelda's Lullaby backwards.

do u remember puling out ur wiimote and just waggling the sword cuz it was cool? xD i did that far too much. But yeah im so happy i (kind of) get to relive the game again. I had a feeling it was comin to switch so purposefully didnt replay play it till it was released on there lmao

The first Zelda game that I fully played through (multiple times, and is probably my favorite) and I fell in love with every thing about it almost immediately, I don't think I could wait any longer.

the only zelda game I can play multiple times is oot. To me, all the other zelda games are really only a one time playthrough and thats it. I've beaten Oot over 5 times since I first played it back in the '90s.
