A Harvard Professor's Conversion to Catholicism | Roy Schoeman | Jesus, My Savior

Meet Roy Schoeman, a former Professor at Harvard Business School, as he speaks about his acceptance of atheism when he went to university and how it dragged him into a pit of hopelessness. He shares how God personally intervened in his life in a miraculous way. Now working as a catholic speaker and inspiring thousands of believers and nonbelievers with his story, he has found the true meaning of life and the overflowing ocean of God's Love.

    I am a lapsed Catholic. I have not been to confession in decades, and I divorced my husband because he cheated on me for four years of the marriage! I am afraid to go a church that I was not raised in, but I feel drawn to go back, to ask for confession and have my Catholic Marriage annulled! I feel that I have so many negative things against me, I am no longer worthy of my Catholic Faith! Pray for me please😇♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

    Yes that is correct. Although Judaism of Jesus time was corrupt and wicked. That is why they did not except Jesus as their messiah. And so too the Catholic church is also corrupt and wicked, and they too do not except Jesus as the messiah. You see when you add or take away from the word of God you have destroyed it, corrupted it, perverted it. They have both added man made traditions to the word of God. That destroys God's word. That is why the Bible says do not add or take away from the word of God.

    I am a Catholic as well, but one thing I do not like about the Catholic church is that they do not inject the evils going on in the world today in their homilies. It is vital that they discuss the world we live in and the sin that is spreading through it like a cancer. Like Joseph of Aramathia (sp) told the Sanhedrin - can we honestly say we represent the people. The church should be talking about Ukraine, abortion and all the evils going on in the world and not hide behind their tax exempt status!

    @Marie W 777 I didn't say she's married to the Holy Spirit, I said she's the spouse of the Holy Spirit. Spouse in Theology is wider in meaning than being a 'wife'; Spouse in Theology is mystical, spiritual. You might understand this better when you read the Song of Songs of Solomon wherein it speaks of the Groom (God) and the soul as spouse. Moreover, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary conceived Jesus 'by' the power of the Holy Spirit, so in that sense she is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit because only spouses may beget or conceive someone. Now, please don't think that Jesus is brought about sexually because God can fertilize a human egg cell in His own way (not the way humans and animals procreate) just as He is capable of creating us out of nothing.

  • @reyreyes6126

    @reyreyes6126

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Marie W 777 Not all truths that God wants us to know are written in the Scriptures. Look for John's Gospel where he mentioned it. The New Testament in particular was about Jesus's teachings, His redemption of humanity through His death on the Cross. Hence, other truths about Jesus i.e., his relation to His mother, Jesus leaves to His church in the development of His teachings ( Theology, Dogmas of the Church). Catholic Doctrine is a matter of faith; and it does not make sense to unbelievers like you--just as Jesus during His time was crucified because of HIs 'nonsense' teachings; many didn't believe Him. For Catholics, the dogmas about Mary and the Church of Christ are held for beliefs (that's why they're dogmas) . Dogmas are not blasphemies but precisely they're declared to be true by the Authority of the Church to counteract heresies and blasphemies. So anyone who calls the dogmas about the Bless Mother blasphemous--he blasphemes. If you don't accept the dogmas about Mary, then it's your choice, it's between you and God. You may ask Him the same questions when you meet Him as our Judge. And wait for His answer while going elsewhere...Bless you.

    @ljit ljam only faith can give you the ray of light and hope, Jesus Christ our Lord gives life and nourishment. Have faith, seek Christ and practice traditional Catholicism and you will feel what Christ and true Christian-Catholicism is. I had some kind of depression but It vanished as it was nothing when I started to practice just this September, I feel different from before and it is the grace of God. I'm nearly 17 and depression is common among teenagers, a friend of mine is depressed but there are two things that males different from me and her. First she has been raised Adventist, then she is Atheist so not practicing. I try to help her but the only solution is faith in traditional Catholicism (not mainstream Vatican II set but Tridentine Rite), my slow conversion is thanks the grace of the Holy Spirit and the Tridentine Rite. I hope you can find peace in yourself but I can assure that true and absolute happiness is only in devotion to Christ but also to His Mother, our Lady. Is easier to heal throught faith rather than with a psychologist.

    @ljit ljam Please do not kill yourself. Murder is sin, an offense to GOD. He created YOU with a purpose for YOU. You need to repent of yours sins and follow Christ. Obey his laws. Give your life solely to him. GOD loves YOU and your life is very variable to him. We were created to worship him forever. But sin has caused a divide between us and GOD. But Christ is the savior, that closes that division. He came to put us back on the right path and relationship with GOD. You can have joy, peace and love in your heart and soul, but most of all, the forgiveness of your sins, the breaking of the laws of GOD, all of that can be forgiven. Every lie, theft, fornication, pornography, etc, can all be forgiven. YOU don't have to live in fear or anxiety. GOD loves you. Christ died for YOU. He rose again for YOU. Pray and ask GOD to help you. Get you a bible and read Acts 2:38 and obey it. Ask GOD to fill you with the holy ghost and give you power to live free from sin and live this life. We will suffer in the life, but GOD gives us the power to make it. YOU CAN MAKE IT. GOD is bigger than drugs, abuse, loneliness, depression, fear, sadness, pain, addictions, etc!!!!! Christ is our only true lasting hope. Please don't take your life. Please know that YOU are so dearly LOVED❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This doesn’t mean don’t try but there is a time and a place. And I am guessing by blessed you mean full of grace. And being used by our lord and full of grace go hand in hand. This is because the graces we receive are from the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit dwells in those full of grace. And because they are full of the Holy Spirit they are instruments of God all mighty.

    OL of Guadalupe revealed herself to me. She covered the sun. I was able to stare at the sun and it didn't hurt my eyes. Gold surrounded Mary and peace overcame me. She was as clear and beautiful as the original image, only the colors were more beautiful than colors in the world. She is real. My grandfather and uncle were named Guadalupe and I named one of my son's Guadalupe.

    @@melvynn11 Hi Melanie. I saw OL of Guadalupe on Dec. 11, 2018. It was around 2:30 pm. My family needed a veritable miracle. Mama Mary's apparition was a sign to me that our need would be resolved. And sure enough it was. Several times when I have needed a miracle the sun does magnificent movements only for me to see. Blessed are you for believing. I am no longer afraid of death. I can't wait to see Mary again.

    This video, was one of many moments when I felt (for the first time) really strong love for our Mother. Those days I was in chaos about which church to choose since I was preparing for baptism in local Husite church in Czech Republic and was in conflict with some of the teachings. Day before I prayed for guidance and as well asked my friend (for the first time) to pray for me. And the answer was so beautifull, very subtle, yet it all clicked and fall into right places and I could not hide from the Truth anymore. The Catholic church was the way to go and I was and I still am filled with quiet joy and love which I could not imagine before, it transcends all the worldly pains and ateism and angosticism of past is yet small shadow in comparison. Now I am preparing for baptism here in Prague and next year I want to say YES to the Church and be with Jesus and Mary, Joseph, all the angels, saints and brothers and sisters. I love going every day for morning mass, sing, listen and then spread the light of Christ, not to push anyone into faith, but in freedom show by example what matter the most. Since here is very few believers, I pray for my parents, family and friends that they also can experience personally this greatest gift of life and share it. Bless all of you!

Then I reflected on my thoughts that had convinced me to become Catholic. One of the main reasons was, not only did Jesus institute ONE Church, but it was a TEACHING Church, one that taught with AUTHORITY. BOOM! No more struggles. If the Church taught it, I knew that it was the Holy Ghost teaching _through_ The Church. Dominus vobiscum, Reg +JMJ

    Shema Echad three things. 1. We don't worship Mary. 2. Every action of Mary served solely to glorify her Son. 3. Mary is not a goddess. She is a human that God chose to honour as His own mother.

  • @jonahstephens2904

    @jonahstephens2904

    4 жыл бұрын

    Shema Echad between Catholics and God, He knows well that we value His Son infinitely more than we value Mary. Every mass is offered to God. The Eucharist, the centre of our faith, has nothing to do with Mary. You have no understanding of Catholic doctrine or theology if you truly believe we worship anything other than God. Mary's ability to be invoked comes from no one other than God. Every action of Mary, Scriptural or not, has served the sole purpose of glorifying her Son. Giving birth, being present at the crucifixion, all her apparitions, etc. They all glorify Christ, not herself. It sure is a shame that all Christians must have been pagans for 1500 years until a mentally ill monk finally got it right. We have one God. We attest at every mass that we believe in one God (in the Nicene Creed). The piece of bread that we believe to be Jesus's Body is not treated as another god. That piece of bread is our God; it is the literal body and blood of Jesus (John 6). I don't have to convince you that you're believing in falsehoods about the Catholic faith. It's your choice to remain ignorant. Also, since when were Catholics satanists? Our baptismal promises specifically renounce Satan. Further proof of your pure, unadulterated, total, willful ignorance regarding the Catholic faith. As an aside, I used to be exactly like you. I used to think that Catholicism was the whore of babylon, polytheist, pagan, idolatrous, etc. I was raised a Protestant, a diehard one at that. However, when I began to look into the Catholic Church, I had an extremely rational epiphany of its truth. Unlike the professor here (though I admire his conversion story), my conversion was much less "feely" than his. I studied the theology behind the Church, and I converted after a rather anti-Catholic investigation. Eventually, the objective truth of the Church overcame my reservations, and I was confirmed into the Church just recently. It's your choice whether or not to be ignorant regarding the faith. It's not my problem, but I do always try to correct misconceptions. It's ultimately between you and God to determine how He revealed His truth.

  • @jonahstephens2904

    Shema Echad please explain the original Nicene Creed, then. The purpose of the Council of Nicaea was to define the Trinity, which it did. Also, might I ask, what are you, then? One of the Christians that claims to be neither Protestant nor Catholic? Or not Christian at all? Also, again, we do believe in One God. The Trinity is One God in three distinct Persons, as you likely know, assuming you do possess the knowledge you claim (though you have persistently arrested against those claims in your demonstrations of "knowledge"). You say "Trinity abomination." Have you any understanding that there are direct references to each of the distinct Persons of the Trinity in Scripture?

Jesus is the foundation and cornerstone of the Scriptural chùrch-THE CHURCH OF GOD! the roman catholic church was never mentioned in the Holy Bible. not a word or hint. so get òut of this wicked roman empire...i mean system. God torn the veil at the temple when Christ died. this means by means of His sacrifice once for all we could directly come to the Father (not your phedophile fathers) for prayers and repentance through God's grace. not sacraments or indulgences like ur rcc does, paying your way to salvation and bribing ELOHIM

    My goodness thank you Roy for such a poignant and intimate story how unique God chooses to call us in His time. I was raised Catholic until age 13 confirmation. During that year I left the church and never stepped foot in a Catholic church until 49 years later. It was 1969 and VCII change of liturgy was promulgated. My beautiful old church was turned into a "hippy like atmosphere" with drum set and electric guitar at altar. The altar was now a table and our priest faced us turning his back on our Lord's sacrifice. He spoke English instead of Latin and his vestments were no longer beautiful but "funky." I could not articulate it but I was horrified and I felt God was no longer home. 2.5 years ago I returned to the Catholic church when I found out the Latin mass was offered only 15 minutes away. I went with my 24 year old son who wanted to be Catholic. Yes, this was the mass I attended during childhood and I sobbed with joy. Immediately sought the priest for guidance to return to a sacramental life. My son was baptized in the Roman Rite and a year later, a miracle happened. During that year when my son was receiving Catechism instruction, I had been following Bishop Athanasius Schneider from Astana, Kazakhstan, his every word, such a wonderful holy man, and WHO should be the one who confirmed my son? He did. It was the most wonderful gift from God. He said just when he was about to purchase his plane ticket to Seattle, he instantly received an email from my priest who invited him to come to our parish in Mpls., and he told the Bishop there was a young man who would like to be confirmed. He immediately changed his plans...and my son was confirmed by him.

    I’m amazed that this video showed up on my page this morning. I had read his book, Salvation is From the Jews, several years ago, and it shook me up and stuck with me. (That book along with Walter Cisek’s He Leadeth Me are the best Catholic memoirs I’ve read-and I’ve read tons!). Just yesterday I thought about re-reading Mr Shoeman’s book. I again thought about what he wrote this morning while I was reading Romans. Now this video showed up! Yes, I definitely need to revisit his book. I praise God for the blessings he gives his children because those blessing are really meant to trickle out to all of us. Thank you Mr. Shoeman for sharing your story with us!

    You said something very key here Portuguese! I had a dream once were I was a little boy walking lost in a town square were so many people had gathered,there was so much commotion I wanted to see what it was about, I could see a really bright light in the background and a Beautiful lady sitting high and I could tell she was somebody big and special she had tiara on her blond hair, So after seeing the crowd and watching her speak I started to walk away with my head down I was just a sad kid nowhere to go then I heard her voice I turned and it was her speaking to me but I could not understand her language so then she began to speak to me in Spanish come here so as a shy shameful boy I did and she asked me what was wrong why was I sad and what would be my request so I sad to her please take away all the bad and sadness in my life, She put her and on my head and could feel things flowing out of me, it wasn’t until months after this dream that an older Man from my Parrish who was widowed but became friends with, and as gift gave me a gift wrapped so when I got home from Church and opened it, I was in shock, it was the beautiful lady in my dream it was Our Lady of Fatima that explained why I didn’t understand her at first, all my life I knew of Our Lady of Guadalupe but I never knew Fatima until then, and here you mentioned that you too didn’t understand this is incredible and she does intercede for us.

    Thank you Roy for sharing your testimony. It is clear that God moves in mysterious ways you can't imagine. I am a proud Catholic like Roy. I also have a few questions about my faith before but I know the Holy Spirit is guiding me. I am not that well-versed with the bible but I know for a fact that Jesus once told His apostles "Do this in memory of Me." The Holy Eucharist is what we celebrate during mass following exactly what He told us to do. Do this! If that is the case and it has been passed on from generation to generation then what He said was true that "upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." The Catholic church has been there for so many many many years. Yet other churches try to destroy it by interpreting their own version of the bible. And they failed. As anyone can see, the Catholic church is still standing tall after all these years. No new religion or sect can put it down. Not even the gates of hell. That's what He said if we read between the lines. Otherwise Jesus is lying if the church He built that time has long been gone. But He isn't. Are you going to try to put down the Catholic church again? By default, you already lost. About the Blessed Virgin Mary. The most humble woman on earth whom she carried Jesus for nine months said that she is just a creature like everybody else. Mary took care of Jesus when she became pregnant until His death. I am not so sure why other people attack and insult her if God chose her to take care of His only begotten Son. Maybe you don't have any respect to your country's president if you didn't vote for him or her. But are you going to do the same to whom God has chosen? You throw stones to this woman as if you are not a sinner. She appeared to several people here on earth to repent and be saved. Because she knows only God can forgive and save. Her Guadalupe apparition converted millions of people to be closer to God. Fatima is the same. Her message to Lucia is for the conversion of Russia. Do her apparitions tell you that she is dead? And do her messages to repent and be closer to God evil? Will the enemy of God tell you that? Are you going to tell something against her again because its not in the scriptures and throw away verses that everyone should know about salvation, hatred to Mary and whatever you can think of to support your claim? Why Mary and not Elijah, Moses, John, other saints, prophets or apostles appear and ask us to get closer to God? Do you think the Blessed Virgin Mary loves us so much more keeping us from sinning and going astray even to those who don't like her, don't know her or refuse to believe her? Our God is a loving God. I know God loves even our billion of muslim and bhuddist brothers and sisters. He laid down His Son to save the entire world. For God so loved the world. Would He turn His back on them because they are not Christians? They know nothing about our God since they pray to their own. Let alone the verses in the bible. Do you think our non-Christian brothers and sisters are already condemned? I know God is also after our faith. Samson got back his strenght because of faith. Jesus said to the woman who touched His cloak that she was healed because of her faith. He was amazed by the faith of the centurion. The blind man's faith made him see again and so much more. I don't think these people carry scrolls as basis of their faith and knowledge about God. Yet they were healed and followed Jesus. I knew Roy received a gift from heaven when he came near Jesus and Mary. Common gift is healing. Fr. Maniyangat received a gift of healing. My grandma also had the same story (1944) as this priest (1985) when they almost died. An angel brought them to hell, purgatory and heaven. My grandma said she met a man holding a key. When she came back to life she can also heal. Lastly, I hope that during this time of crisis we leave our differences behind and unite as one nation fighting the disease. Pardon my english. To God be the Glory! May He bless and protect us all!
