    Just for everyone guessing kit model,engine fitted etc, This is a DAX Tojeiro, it’s roof is either a 1 off creation by the owner or the rare/seldom optioned DAX “Le Man’s” style roof ( I think it’s the latter but I can’t confirm) it runs 350cu/5.7 small block Chevy ( pity it’s not a big block Ford but you can’t have everything) it was built/registered/completed in 2004

  • @asymsolutions

    @asymsolutions

    2 ай бұрын

    Source link? I would love to know why the owner chose to go SBC over a ford engine. I have my own hunch (simply the owner/builder have more experience with SBC's and it wasn't going for authenticity anyways). But it would be cool to hear from the owner themselves. Also I'm loving that hardtop variation. It's like the Corba Le Mans hardtop blended with the Cobra Daytona roofline. Only thing that would make it better was if the hardtop& rear deck lid were blended and opened together like a hatch.

  • @gimble447

    @gimble447

    2 ай бұрын

    @@asymsolutions I dunno if you are in Britain or the USA bud, but here in Britain ( where the car is) I can find out that info just by searching the registration number in the DVLA ( driver vehicle licence agency) website. SBCs are easier to source and cheaper to tune than old big block fords on the whole outside of the USA ( and also the big lower weight difference enhances handling) 👍 so that’s my sources and the reason it’s not got an expensive boat anchor engine over here and I’m sure the owner will be just as fine not talking to you about your nonsensical illinformed hunch 😂

  • @valentine--vincent4590

    @valentine--vincent4590

    2 ай бұрын

    @@russnunn2456 The lowest recorded sale price was $660,000 for a 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster on Jan 14 2023. The average price of a Shelby Cobra 427 is $2.2 million… if it were an original. Fewer than 100 of those estimated to remain. In 2021, the prototype 1964 Cobra 289 “CSX2000” sold for $13.75 million. More common small-block Cobras tend to sell in the $2 million range today. The 427 engine commands higher prices, generally speaking. This being a one-off custom (as far as I know) AC Cobra, was still probably several hundred thousand dollars to own and build. 😅

  • @gimble447

    @gimble447

    2 ай бұрын

    @@valentine--vincent4590 but this isn’t a cobra, it’s a fibreglass kit car/replica ffs the only thing truly “custom” on it is possibly the roof ( it’s either custom or a DAX “le mans” roof but I can’t confirm which 100% but I think it’s the DAX roof) The rest is a complete fully supplied kit by one of the most respected kit manufacturers in the world, AND YET you wrote all that under a comment that told you exactly what it is!!!!ffs, are you all there in the head bud? 🤦‍♂️ 😂!!! Ok here’s how it really is, in general like everything it’s worth what someone wants to pay but roughly a nicely professional built and SBC engined car like this ( less roof ) goes for 40-60k in the UK ( where the car is) this one might achieve more if someone really fell in love with it obviously, but it’s a very subjective thing with no correct answer, however if you were to build one yourself in the UK , depending on specs obviously, it could be anywhere from 20k ( 2nd hand components and most likely a 4 cylinder engine (yuck) up-to getting to the stage when you run out of money, lose yer house and the wife and kids leave 😂 😂 😂 So in short and wildly simplified, $50k - $75k less roof in the UK where actually DAX Cars originate from and they were incidentally the first company in the world, (before the hundreds of firms worldwide followed later) to make Cobra Kits ( DAX cars first cobra kit launched 1968) lastly I’ll point out that on the whole, building one would be a bit cheaper in the US (especially when considering the engine and many of the cobra replica specific parts cost price and add to that simply brilliant off the shelf availability over there for example) but in no way ANYWHERE in the world is this particular car worth “several” hundred thousand dollars, whether you are talking cost to build or cost to buy, that’s just a ridiculous comment and shows you have nothing but a complete lack of knowledge on the subject 😂

    That's because the rat bastards that run the world have about used up all the planet's oil and have decided that we will all soon be driving electric cars once the cost of removing oil is more than the profit and is no longer worth drilling for. I just LOVE how they make all these decisions for us lol. California, by like 2030 or 2035 will MANDATE that car dealerships are only allowed to sell electric vehicles. It's coming whether we want it or not. I wonder what kind of consequences all these old dead batteries from new electric cars will have on our planet??

    Carol Shelby would approve. Very well done. The only problem I see is the front clip was painted separately from the car and nobody blended the paint
