they were not, in fact, a happy trio.
for obvious reasons this show is very hard to edit when it comes to characters' stories and perspectives. The story is half lies half ghosts so most edits will end up feeling that way too.
i don't want to over-explain the work, but i do feel compelled to say that the goal was to portray both the happiness and the abuse experienced in their household, without extensively romanticizing any POV. i tried my best to focus on claudia's words and, of course, loustat's neutral scene in the finale (crying).

@@zowho i feel you! when i was editing the secret history it was such a struggle to deal with the unreliable narrator - yet you had to deal with three different povs!! thats why you are actually insane YOU MADE IT LOOK SO EASY

So, I was waiting for Claudia's demise because I absolutely loathed her most of season 1 onward....until she found her person. She completely changed once she found her companion and then I dreaded the end. I really wanted them to live and I think if Lestat had enough juice, he would have saved them too. Even though he and Claudia had a fractured relationship, he wouldn't ever hurt Louis in that way.
