Yes but mate prices have gone up this year! It’s 6 lev a pint of Bulgarian beer on Flower street now and 9 Lev (over £4) for an import beer like Corona for example. I know the pub you mean though and it is cheapest there, it’s on the side street where you see the Tobacco shop

When you pay your bill if you say thank you they take that as “ keep the change “ so tip when change arrives

You are correct! 👍At the Helena Sands beach bar the waiter gave me change in Ukranian money. I went to one of the beach bars and after I ordered they told me that the menu had last years prices and the price was now higher! It’s illegal but they did it and I had to pay! Best restaurants ive been to were Lapa Lapa, Hawaii, Flora, Bolero, Danny's, Harp and 100% family restaurant.

Sean you get a better rate at the banks on Flower street such as Fi Bank & Co-Operative, the currency Exchanges give a Low rate. Crown has bad rates in 2024 unfortunately I checked in May. For Taxis you must Negotiate, Taxis are expensive in Sunny B but for 5.6 km / 4 miles you should try to Negotiate and pay 20 lev max. In Sofia taxis are so cheap

@seangibsondinodog2945 your right they don’t! the Banks have far better rate however you have to bring ID. Last summer often the Cash Machines were out of money so best to bring Cash with you and change it

Yeh I've scoured the Internet and keep getting conflicting results with some people saying they are every hour and then the official travel websites only showing a few journeys and all saying they don't have up to date timings. Would like to know for certain so I don't have to book a taxi

Finally found what I was looking for. You can get a bus from the airport every half hour (409) to Varna Centre which takes roughly 20 minutes then get the bus which heads to Burgas South which leaves every 30mins in the morning and every hour in the afternoon until 1800 ish. Sunny Beach stop is 1hr45.

Does anyone know if it's possible to exchange or get bulgarian lev at the Burgas airport? thanks

There a lot of fantastic food places. Lotus Restaurant is brillant and near hotel karolina is a great Restaurant with fair prices and good food. I don' know the Name.

You Show a good choice like flora and cental bar or corner. At Lotus is all good (e.g salad, steak is very nice and Fish if you like). I was two weeks ago in burgas beach hotel that is not far from Meridian. You can eat in azzuro. It's 1 Minute from Meridian. Greetings from germany

Flora next to the Condor bar have the best cocktails. All proper, none of the syrup stuff and house spirits.

Hiya, you should mention to people NOT to use the little blue and yellow ATM machines scattered throughout the resort. They are a complete rip off.

For anybody watching this in 2024, is Sunny Beach suitable for families, or is it mostly for party goers and sex tourists? We've initially booked an all inclusive stay at the Marvel Hotel (apparently renovated this year) But I have read so many commenters (mostly Reddit) after my bookings, saying that it is more or less a shit heap.

Wrong there's lots more cheaper than most holiday resorts Wine & cocktails heaperthn the average , I go every summer last 10 years

In terms of alcohol there are some cheap deals if you drink local beer and local spirits and go back away from the promenade! If you want the good stuff named labels of whisky from abroad-it’s similar to what you pay in other countries… Corona beer was 9 lev so (£4.20) for a small bottle and a named basic whisky was 12 lev with coke on Flower street and on the prom so it’s not cheap A pint of local Bulgarian beer has gone up to 6 lev (£2.80) at Funny pub this year, I noticed that the bars have put their prices up .. The nightclubs such as underground and Gabanna etc were asking for a high entry fee this year unfortunately

Thank goodness they changed the name from Brexit bar! Maybe Nigel sold it?

I have been twice.. I have to say that the food was OK.. Just OK.. Do not ask for a sandwich.. For some reason, their sandwichs are poor quality.. However, I agree that some of the restaurants are quite good...

That’s true but it’s better value than Spain, South of France, Greece and Cyprus still … can you recommend us some of the cheapest places there ?

Who in there right mind...brings cash on a holiday for exchange ??....we are not in the 80's or 90's any more !!! 😂😂..a debit or credit card will give you much better rates !!

@@travelwithcol4625 you can take out cash on your card with much better rates in Bulgaria...just use real Bulgarian banks ATM and not the EuroNet (yellow/blue) ATM's that you see in the resorts !!

I’m Bulgarian and I can tell you that all the restaurants in sunny beach are horrible 😃 buy and cook your own food while in Bulgaria unless you’re i. Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna or Russe

I get where you are coming from but I did find a few good ones.. we were impressed by La Flor and Iris garden.. people told me they like Djanny, went many poor quality ones too .. did you try these ones?
