A Guide To Elsha Of The Infinite Classic Storm Commander / EDH | MTG

Ойындар

In the original upload, I mistakenly framed this deck tech, which my friend Zach Martin and myself put about two weeks of work into writing, editing, and producing, as an "underplayed" commander. OOPS. That's my bad. I thought a colorful "tag" or "bookend" would help distinguish this from just an "average" deck tech, and for me and my playgroup, Elsha was not a commander I had seen before Zach showed up with her one night and impressed me with her prowess. That's how I pick my decks, by the way: I play with friends, I have fun, and then I wanna develop a script and play test and write and create a video.
I don't spend a lot of time on EDHrec memorizing stats and such because I have a more organic approach to deck building. That's not to say there is anything wrong with EDHrec, love them and love the people behind the site, but that's how I didn't see "Oh, this is actually a Commander in the Top 30 with such and such percentages and a Cedh counterpart and so forth and so on. I just like to play and build what I love, and do videos about those decks and the decks my friends play. I'm sorry I mistook Elsha for a lesser known Commander because of this, but this tech, and this list, are awesome (even if it isn't 100%) and I really hope that you enjoy the video and can maybe not be too angry at this bumbling professor. Let's shuffle up and play? I love this game.

It's fun to see deck techs that run almost completely opposite to a deck I've already built. I run a combo storm Elsha deck which really only has one combo, and it is wildly different from this setup. It makes me happy, knowing there are as many ways to play Magic as there are cards in Magic.

@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai I'm probably an outlier here but I don't use EDHRec at all. My brewing process comes down to what I have in my collection first, and then stuff that comes up in table talk at my playgroup. I get how someone could be under the impression that Elsha is underplayed- I was too, until I read the comments pointing it out. I was pleasantly surprised that Elsha gets a lot of love, and Prof put out a video without the mistake on Elsha's popularity. Egg on our faces for not knowing, I suppose.

I'm used to build my Elsha decks around artifacts and cost reducers, in order to pump Elsha and get storm counters. My main wincon used to be artifacts token generation like 'Saheeli, Sublime Artificer', 'Sai, Master Thopterist', 'Efficient Construction', 'Mirrodin Besieged'. When Jeskai Ascendancy is on the battlefield all these token artifacts creatures get fast to at least 5/5, during the storm if someone remove Jeskai ascendancy, I can still cast Haze of Rage to pump them... I really love how the board grows up fast, (when it runs well)... The problem with my deck build is the lack of answers against opponents, removals and low mana curve, etc... To fix the low mana curve I use KCI and Ashnod's Altar. Anyway, I really love Elsha! I will try a deck build similar to this one suggested by the Professor, it will be probably fun! 😁

On other hand the next deck that I will make is Kalamax storm, working really hard on copping stuff and making the Elemental dinossaur really big and finish with a bunch of bolts or a singular Chandras Ignition (or a lot of copies of it)

So if I may pose a question here I had an elsha deck but once modern horizons came out and nostro voice of the crags came out I changed to have it as my commander. My friends instantly started to disagree with my decision, raving about the card advantage elsha gives you...... but you need other pieces to make it work that way. With nostro all you need to do is cast spells (which your already doing anyway) was I wrong to change commanders or is nostro a good spell slinger storm commander?

I've been interested in commander storm for a while, wanting Temur+ for the new green storm cards and thousand year storm And mage craft

Isn't Veyran basically a snap include in any UR storm or storm-adjacent deck? What's better than Prowess? Magecraft, triggering off every single copy of the spell as well as doubling both the Prowess and Magecraft triggers that result. I'm also partial to Monastery Mentor...

Elsha was my first Commander deck. Mine is kinda weird, but it gets the job done.

Any insights on how to have fun with stormy archetypes like this without eventually turning the game into a solitare nightmare of boredom for my opponents? I feel I can pilot very efficiently and love spelllslinger decks (and am personally not a fan of infinite effects). But when goldfishing/testing builds I notice I always get stuck as a 'slave' to my board, tediously casting spells and digging just to find my kill source

hey, i was wondering how you sell your cards from your booster box game. do you go into your local card shop or do you post them on some website? i was thinking of doing the same, I just don't know how to go about it.

I’ve got most of these cards lying around except the tutors and extra turns, I have a pseudo storm deck with zada, and I love me some lightning bolt, maybe it’s time to actually storm off….

Someone help me out, I fail to see the lethality of the damage portion of this deck (grapeshot for example) Need 120 (ish) grapeshots to kill, cast a reasonable 9 instants with thousand year storm out, cast grapeshot, that's only 20 damage no? Reverberate for another 10 damage? I must be missing the combo here, unless the combo strictly relies around casting your whole deck with om/enter
