A great change-up for beginner softball pitchers!

Let’s start learning some off-speed variations! Today we introduce the first change-up: the slip change.
This is one that I learned when I was first learning how to pitch too! One key tip is to place the ball so you can feel it against your entire palm. This will help keep your pitch slow. If you finish with your fingers pointing down, it will keep the ball low!
This is a great variation for beginner fastpitch pitchers. Plus Ultra! 🥎

This has to be the easiest to understand change up video I’ve watched! Thank you! I was able to spot what my daughter is off on right away!

Nic. My daughter has been struggling with her CU this year. But I think too many people have been showing her different types, flip Change, Circle change, Palm change. I told her to just pick one and go all in on it. I think she chose the palm change that looks very similar to this one.

Choosing a change-up can be overwhelming for exactly that reason! There are so many options. I’ve found it really comes down to what is comfortable to throw and consistently slow. I recommend trying one change-up for at least a few months to make sure you really give it a good try. I’m here if you have any questions during the journey!

Simple and clear explanation. Seems easy to follow. Thank you for this video. I can’t wait to start working on it with my daughter. She is starting 14U this spring and she is meeting your 4-5 criteria for beginning to learn the change up.

Thats’s great! I love watching pitchers learn a new pitch because they’re so excited. Make sure she remembers to have fun with it-learning a new pitch doesn’t come right away, but with time and practice it comes faster than you think!

Can't not see how you release the ball

Thanks for letting me know! Imagine you’re holding the ball in the palm of your hand and you have your 4 fingers holding one side of the ball and your thumb on the other. Now, move all 5 fingers outward (think like the a hand pretending to talk) to release the ball

Cmon, slow pitch is when you lob the ball in and a drunk guy hits it as hard as he can.
