Very nice soil mix. This is one cool Birch Tree going into the pot. That pot with the soil has to be over 50 pounds in weight. Glad the tractor helped you to lift and place it. Nice Tamarack trees you found. Nice little pots for them.

I can not get any of the traditional Bonsai soil stuff where I am either. I went to the company gravel pit a few hours away. The trees there are very similar to your shale pit trees. I even pulled some out by hand. I could hear people yelling at me through their computer monitors, I haven't even uploaded the video yet Haha! I broke down and got a birch. I was there for Tamarack. The buds on them here are about the same as the ones you collected here. Great video! Your shows spurred me to get up off my bum and make the drive to that other gravel pit. Thanks for that!😋
