A Gorgeous Sunday on the BNSF Racetrack. Lots of Trains and Beautiful Station Depots

While the train density along the BNSF Racetrack is not nearly as great on a Sunday as it is during the week, there is still a good variety of freight and passenger train action. However, in addition to the actual railroad action, the station depots along this line are truly beautiful works of architecture and deserve attention in their own right. These structures, many of which date back to the early 20th century, are given the spotlight in this video. Scenes are from Hinsdale, Western Springs, Riverside, and Berwyn which are arguably the prettiest/most architecturally impressive depots on the line. Two other beautiful stations, at Stone Avenue and Highlands, were not visited as they do not receive weekend service and are deserving of a visit upon a future trip out to Chicagoland.

In a few weeks I am driving from Ohio to spend several days railfanning at these locations. I REALLY appreciate your excellent written description and share your love of architecture. Stations form a backdrop for the trains and enhance the visual enjoyment. Any tips or advice when filming there? I plan on spending six or more hours per day at each location. Thanks again!
