I remember being an 18 year old guitar student at M.I. back in ‘87 when Larry Carlton came and did a workshop with us. Afterward I was walking down the hall when coming towards me was Larry himself. He made eye contact with me, like he was going to approach. Then he stopped me to talk, and I thought who am I that the great Larry Carlton would seek out my attention. I couldn’t believe it. It was then he asked me “Can you point me towards the exit?” So, of course I did. That was my Larry Carlton encounter, lol. I’ll never forget it.

OMG that sounds so juicy! Rich full tones without compromise! You 100% deserve that gift Kirk. I love the fact Sire has their own factory allowing them to do their own QA and QC controls to keep their quality extremely high. Sire didn't compromise on the quality and sound of their pickups either, truly some of the best I've ever heard across the spectrum. ALWAYS brings a huge smile to my face when I get to hear you play!

Every time I see the H7 demo'd I'm blown away...Excellent axe for the price....Killer tone as always, man!

I've seen Larry several times live. I have yet to see you! One day I will! I tried that guitar a few times and picked up one not long ago. It's a nice guitar, regardless of price point. New strings and setup everything as most of us do (or should) after changing strings. Plays and sounds great.

Saw Larry Carlton in Bangkok during the mid '80s - he blew the doors off ! He also arranged and played outstanding rhythm/lead parts on most of my fave Steely Dan tracks. Such a musical guy...

Great playing as always Kirk and you did that guitar absolute justice too! I have the Blue S7 Sire and it's equally as good. Amazing guitars period and not just for the price either, I would have gladly paid twice the amount and still been just as happy with it! "Silver Spoon" ! You and Robert Cray, that IS the blues!

Don’t know you Kirk, but I dig your playing! I play Larry Carlton tunes with my wife nearly every night. She can throw down the chords to Room 335 like no other guitar player I have ever played with. Larry taught me to bend in tune. Thanks Larry if you’re checking out Kirk’s channel!

love you man from a white boy in Ohio. been listening to Larry since 1982. Saw him in concert in 91. One of my favourite players of all time. Congrats on that 335. Sounds great. Keep on.

Just got an used sunburst. I am in love! There is a little nick on the top barely noticiable that "I have to live with it) (very perfectionist, amateus musician, pros dont care much about these details). It has been adjusted, plays like butter. The pickups sound amazing. Previous owner changed potentiometers and capacitators (I think these are the names, my original language is Portuguese), nothing wrong with the originals. Sound like a dream. Love it. I am 70 (lived, legally in the US for 24 years) and have many, many instruments in my life. This is definitely a keeper to the day I die! Be safe you all!

Kirk, you have the touch to make that thing work. Sounds lovely and airy. I remember playing one of the first 100 Mr. 335s and it really liked being played lightly. That looks similar and you're really making that thing sing. Stay well.

Kirk, you are a very gifted and talented player. You are also in a VERY small circle of friends that Larry would gift you a guitar! I also have a Sire H7 Larry Carlton guitar, and right out of the box (literally), it played great! Intonation was spot on, string height was good, and NO buzzes anywhere on the neck! Tone is great, as is yours in this video, and it has become my favorite player over many Gibson & Fender guitars I own! Thanks again for posting this!
