I think your high density makes a factor. I think that doing your styling in the shower/on soaking hair so you can use less product might be better. I generally use much less product and can use mousse to lay my hair "flat" like your stylist did either on top of a botanical gel or on its own. If I use too much then there is a potential for flakes

You’re on the right track with the Verb Curl Cream. That cream is amazing.

I've been waiting for someone else to do a video on that foam... honestly, your hair looks great. But def would say this is more, "I need day 4 hair on day 1" type of foam. Thks for the vid!

Thinking you would've used less product if you hadn't used the leave in which is probably what caused flaking.

That product is definitely a "no" for me! You had to use so many pumps of foam for still no hold. That was a hot mess. But I'm also wondering if it would've worked better without having first put on the leave in. A lot of mousses like to be put straight on the hair... no leave on or oils beforehand. It needs to be directly on the hair. But that gel foam didnt clump your curls at all!

Yeah I thought about that!! But with color chile I can’t do that 😭😭😭 my hair will dry out in a milli second. I think I need a more defined base similar to how I’d use a gel first then top it. So imma try again and definitely show you guess all my tests!!!

The video I’ve been waiting for! I have been debating on trying this on my hair. I appreciate you doing the comparison (a real one!). The Doux Mousse Def didn’t do well moisture wise for me, but definition was AMAZING.

I think the product would work amazing for the type of hair the person who made it has. Her hair is a lot more silky and probably doesn’t need that much to be defined and give her the look she wants. But your fro looks so beautifullll!

My hairdresser suggested I use a mouse for styling because of the fabric of hair I have (my curls are like yours but I have fine strands and medium density). Regular gels are pretty heavy on my curls. I'll be giving this product a try for sure. EDIT: I am currently rocking short hair. My hair is frizzy BUT I like a slightly looser hold on day one (I want big hair and I want it NOW LOL).

I feel you on that big hair!!! I’m definitely going to do my due diligence especially with product reviews so you all can actually see something that might not work the way I like could definitely work on similar curl patterns but finer hair! I definitely am team mousse. So I’m trying to find the best stylers to rebuild my collection! Feel free to leave any suggestions!

Yes, and without a leave in! Will probably need much less product because the added water will distribute the product better.

i feel like this was formulated with people with type 3 curls in mind :( bc no way they tested this on anyone with type 4 and thought it woukd work. im glad they sent it to you, hopefully they see your review and reformulate cuz i def thing it needs some help! even with trying new methods, i feel like products should be more intuitive than that like you shouldn’t have to waste half the bottle figuring it out. thats just not a good product anymore 😂 imho

Thanks for being respectful and honest with your feedback on this product. i was interested in this one because ive been getting good results with mousse/ gel combo butttttt i will not be giving this a try with all the flakes and with my 4c hair this product wont last on my hair lol.

Have u tried the carols daughter version of this?? I believe they have a foam gel too

My birthday was Sunday 13th and I'm intrigued honestly, where was this on the cruise I went on lol, my hair was flying 🤣🤣🤣 it still looked nice but it would have been nice to try
