The long-awaited time has come when the apricots are ripe. How delicious they are, but with a little wind, all the fruits lie on the ground, and the tall branches cannot be reached. We urgently need a collection device.
And soon the apples, plums and pears will ripen, how to pick them? We need to think about everything in advance.
To collect fruits that grow on tall trees, a one and a half liter plastic bottle will help. It makes a good fruit picker.
The easiest option is to take a bottle and cut out a rectangle or oval at the top. The hole should be large enough for the fruit you are picking to fit through. Then attach the bottle to a long stick and fasten it with a screw.
You bring the bottle to the fruit, hook it and tear it off.
There is another option, more advanced, improved. A bottle is also needed here. But it will open and close on its own.
You will also need a light aluminum pipe, for example, from a Soviet cornice or plastic and rope.
How to do:
1) I cut the bottom of the bottle into 4 parts with a metal file, the cuts are 7-8 cm long, there is a small strip on the bottle, cut to it.
2) Then I made holes on each petal with a soldering iron.
3) I made the same holes opposite the first ones, but at the bottom near the neck.
4) Next, I took a piece of rope, longer than the bottle, and threaded it into the top hole from the outside and tied a knot. You need 4 such ropes.
5) I threaded each rope into the lower holes and pulled it out through the neck.
6) I tied all these ropes into a knot, the length of each should be the same. The assembly must be smaller than the diameter of the pipe.
7) Threaded a long rope into the inside of the pipe and led it out. Before that, I rubbed it with a candle for better glide.
8) Connected a bunch of bottle strings to a long rope using electrical tape.
I have a pipe with a diameter smaller than the neck of the bottle, so I wound electrical tape around the tip of the pipe and put the bottle on it.
9) I tied a stick for my hand to the end of the rope on the back side.
How to collect fruits:
- You take the stick in your hands. You lift it to the fruit.
- You pull the rope from the other side.
- The petals are opening. You let go of the rope, the petals close, you pull the stick towards you and the apricot falls into the bottle.
