My mom, 97 Started having severe memory loss about 2/3 the way between 92 and 93. She’s now living at the Haliberton In Windsor. She would prefer to live in a home where everyone was a family member but that doesn’t exist (yet). She’ll often say, “where’s my family “. And in a way I get it. even though staff have been laughing and joking with her now for years, they are always new to her. I love the look on her face when she recognizes me. I do my best for an hour to help her forget about all the things she’s forgotten… and gives me permission to act like a kid. Guys, visit your mom ..Usually a win win, especially if you can bring a little joy. R
