A functioning Sears in 2023?! Inside walkthrough at Westfield Southcenter, Tukwila, WA

Filmed on: April 9th 2023 (Easter day!)
Full walk-through of the first and second floors along with a peak of the closed 3rd floor at Sears Westfield Southcenter in Tukwilla Washington.
Apologies some parts were not that great, as I was trying my best to not get people on camera and the story was still quite busy considering this was taken on Easter of 2023 and it’s a Sears.
Enjoy

The 3rd Floor of this Sears used to have electronics and the Lawn And Garden department which Home Electronics went away in 2019 and Lawn and Garden in 2020-2021. The rest, including Appliances, Tools, vaccum cleaners and Fitness equipment has been moved to 2nd and 1st floor

In that closed off section in level 2, where the restrooms were, the Sears Optical used to be there as well

I wish the Sears store at my mall in N Texas would open back up. Grew up with Sears. Miss it.

It's looking a bit thin in Sears these days. I remember Sears was always poppin back in the day. My parents basically bought everything from that place. They had everything anyone could need. Seems like they are barely holding on, it sucks to see a iconic place that's been around for over a hundred years slowly fade away with time.

Woah that is a real place? Seafood city... I heard about that figured it wasca east of the cascades/rockies/appalacians sort of thing or regional kind of like most the white castle restaurants are except for in Las Vegas or mayne a few othervplaces fwiw mostly in the north midwest like Michigan or south eastern us. Bit fwiw theu have awesome freezer sliders imo.

After not visiting this mall for 3 years we went to Sears two weekends ago. This Sears is pretty empty - looks more like a Sears Outlet than what it used to look like. Everything is on sale. They must send their clearance inventory here.

I miss Sears in general. I missed hating on it and making fun of it for being boring. But now I guess Hudson Bay will do. What a shame, it isn’t the same 😔

Eddie Lampert in typical fashion destroyed the brand. Won’t effect his Pesach.

It looks rather sparse. They need more merchandise, or move to a smaller size store for the ones they wish to keep open. I remember Sears was stuffed full of merchandise back in the 1990's and first half of the 2000's. I worked for Sears from 1998 through 2006. I left just before Eddie Lambert started his destruction of Sears. I also cannot believe he closed so many stores, and sold off the real estate, and assets for his hedge fund's gain. Fast Eddie closed the Sears in Burbank, California, and 10 months later opened it back up again. What retailer closes a location, and reopens it 10 months later? The Sears near me had sales gains, and fast Eddie closed it anyway because he sold the land and building the store sat on. A buyer bought it, and sold it again in a flip transaction. Sears could open smaller stores like TJ Maxx, and Burlington Coat Factory or ROSS in thriving shopping centers where there is still a lot of foot traffic, and survive. Smaller Sears stores also would not look sparse, or have closed off sections.

The problem with sears is that it looks so outdated. Looks like you stepped back in time the moment you walked in
