I wanted to leave some positive feedback. I play guitar for 14 years, but only for 2-3 years I mostly play classical guitar. I thought I would not improve so much anymore since I am already beginning of my 30s, but eversince I put some effort in flamenco, tango.... my skill increased tremendously. And just in time I found your channel with a focus 100% on what I want to learn; this weird genre called flamenco, that is barely recognized even from most (amateur) guitarists. You just tell me what I really want to know, need to know. Thank you man, just thank you.

Can you use a guitar strap with buttons on a Flamenco guitar if you want to?

Sure, why not? Especially if you are standing up like the Gipsy Kings! Traditionally though we would have the guitar on the right leg and elevate that leg in various ways

Do you ever file your nails too much and then feel (guitarwise) impotent? I just did it and my nails are less than 1 mm. My picado feels unstable and normal picking too. Is my technique wrong or it's normal to feel impotent to play with too short nails after sudden filing them of 50%? I guess Ill practice pulgar and alzapua next few days. Edit: I just practiced like this for 2 hours and I have even more control over the strings now! Guess just needed to readjust. However i get less volume and rasguedos don't sound crispy enough. How long are your fingernails guys?

If it feels like you’ve completely lost your bearings and you can’t play I would say your nails may have been too long to begin with and you got used to that. Our nails don’t need to be as long as we sometimes think, back in the day I think people played with longer nails but to get fast picados they should be a little bit shorter. You also noticed that when you play for a long time your nails will feel like they are becoming longer, and I believe it’s because we are pressing the tips of our finger inward over and over and exposing the nail more

@@TheVersatileGuitarist Well, I kept mine max 2 mms, so I guess it ain't that long. But I'll limit it to 1,5 mm now maybe. Will see how things go. Thank you for your insight. I guess the shorter the nails are the more precision they require and therefore the more beneficial the pratice is.
