Awesome & Refreshing to see a Priest working out and the results! Never saw a Clergy in the gym. Good way to surprise others and spread the Word by Action & Example!

My parish priest had a small workout room at his old parish, in the basement. He belonged to a gym where he is now...Only it's been shut down for most of the last year.
This is my parish - LOVE the IC Community!!
Fr. Bill is an amazing guy. He was one of my priests at St. Francis in Raleigh for many years. He's a guys, guy. Super relatable, knowledgable, and easy to talk to. His community is very fortunate indeed.
Dang, father has some epic gains!!! He has great holiness gains too. however, would be nice to see him in the habit.
I don't comment often, but I wanted to chime in and say... I love this little series your doing! Very fun to see different ways of living within your order. Can't wait for the next one!

Fr. Bill seems like a really solid “regular” guy. Good for him.
You sure look great after all the years Billy. I know that big Bill and Ronnie are proud of you...a true disciple of Christ and Francis of Assisi 😇😇😇

@Patrick Nugroho Hadiwinoto i was an aspirant for a year. Then, i wasn't accepted to become a postulant.
I like his attitude to life. Structure is fine, but some people operate better with less of it. I would say, people are at ease in his company. A listening ear is often what many of us need. Good to see him working out. Might encourage more of us to start. Thanks, Br.Casey. Good job !
I love this new series! It's absolutely amazing! Fr. Bill seems like an awesome man.
Love this series!
The first 2:24 not sure why but it hits me like a ton of bricks every time I watch it. Something about the music and Fr. McConville talking about his quiet time in the morning is just awe inspiring.

Wow))) so nice! This friar is a good example for us)) It breaks all stereotypes about priests)) God bless you! And thanks for such good videos! Ukraine is with you))!
Wow, what a great inspiration!!
Awesome video.
Wonderful man. Great profile. He's yet another who doesn't wear a habit. Years ago a woman (now a nun who wears a habit) remembered hearing the news that nuns habits were being done away with. She was disturbed by it and thought " nuns are in the world to effect the world for God, but alas..... the world has instead effected them."

Hi Alex. Have you watched the video on this channel titled "Millennials and the Church: A Conversation with Fr. Daniel Horan" ? Start it at 13:40 and you'll get a nice explanation for the habit from Br Casey and Fr Horan. Even though I don't agree with everything they say I think their viewpoint is interesting and something to think about.

Star_City_Mayor I was a first order Franciscan for a year (did not work out). They wear a 100% brown wool habit all the time, no matter what. Franciscan life is a life of penance. The habit is a penance and must not be taken off just because it becomes uncomfortable or inconvenient. Also, there was a saint that struggled with his habit. He had a vision of Jesus carrying His cross. The saint wanted to go and help our Lord, but Jesus replied that if you cannot even carry the cross of your habit, you cannot possibly carry mine. Needless to say, the saint wore the habit there on out. The story is something to that affect at least. Not to mention, the habit is blessed by a bishop, at least the community I was in. That is a tremendous amount of grace just with the habit alone. As the old saying goes, offer it up.

Another great addition to your series, Bro.Casey. How about adding a link to Fr. Bill's brief daily reflection on the scripture from the day's liturgy?

Wow.... Father Bill seems like he could go the distance with Wolverine! I hope I'm still that motivated at 71. Besides that, he just seems like a great priest. The sort who you could just really connect with and feel comfortable with chatting one on one casually to.
He should start an exercise program for the youth, lord knows I could have used his insights when I was a fat little rolly polly of a child and its been like pulling teeth trying to get in shape as an adult.... just a thought but definitely teaching people to be healthy could be a calling from him!
I live really close this guy. A small town called Pittsboro.
Reps for Jesus!
Hello from italy
Does anyone know the name of the piano melody at 3:10?
I am not too much younger than this friar. It is interesting for me to watch to see how someone else’s life turned out. In the 60’s, I left a Divine Word Missionary seminary after two years, only to find myself turning into something of the kind in middle age. This is how God smiles. I guess He better not laugh.

@@nicksteven1112 Nicholas, for a priest hearing confessions isn't just "work". It's a part of their lifestyle that they live 24/7. If someone calls with an emergency with a near death experience, that priest will show up. Confession is one of the most important parts of life! Sometimes people's scrutiny will cause them to want to confess immediately, some people can't wait.
@nicksteven1112

@@avemaria4788 IF it is an emergency, then yes, the priest should oblige. You are absolutely right that the sacraments are probably the most important aspects of our faith. But I'd fail to see how an emergency to receive the sacraments would come about when one of us meets the priest in the gym. It can always be arranged for a separate appointment. It's different if the priest receives a sick call while he's gymming and he has to stop what he's doing to rush to minister to someone who's on his/her death bed. It's quite another thing altogether when we Catholics think that receiving the Sacraments is a right and have no consideration at all for what our priests are doing, and EXPECT the priests to drop whatever they're doing just to attend to our problems which honestly can wait, and would be better ministered to when the priest in a space to minister sacramentally. We cannot and should not act entitled when it comes to the sacraments.
0:02 How heavy is that load? Because it doesn't look like he'd be struggling to lift it. Was he on his thousandth rep?
Ah! That's why I know his name: he was a Siena College President (after I had graduated)--a great Franciscan college near Albany, NY.
