Ngl the best thing I ever did in my decluttering journey was get rid of any seasonal decor. I dont decorate for Halloween and I no longer celebrate Christmas so the amount of space it frees up is crazy

I also have limited my holiday decor even more now with spacemaking method. Halloween is more about autumn so I have a smiling pumpkin that doubles for both times, I just turn him around. Haha I have a turkey shaped small basket that is adorned with fall ribbon and leaves that comes out at the same time. Downsized the Christmas tree too. Now I rotate 1/3 of the ornaments ea. year. Declutter ongoing . Downsizing equals less temptation to purchase too. But with just a couple things, I can still show some luv for the occasion without much effort. Besides, now I can find them!!!. 😊thanks April!

Dani is such an interesting, warm person.

Amazing transformation! Also great to see how you flex the organisation to match the person you're helping. Now Dani just needs to gift things to her friends and take all the arts supplies to her school to keep reducing her inventory over the next few months. The skincare stuff will clearly get used up now she can see all of it too, so things will keep getting more manageable. Really happy for Dani, she's now got so much space.

Yes! I wanted all the clothes out of Dani's bedroom, so it could be restful for her and stimulating in the other room. Excellent job ladies!

Enjoying Dani and her journey; I have thoughts on the gift/christmas/halloween stuff; - she needed more categories; - Christmas decor/decorations - Christmas cards and christmas gift bags - Regular cards - birthday/thankyou etc - also stored with the regular gift bags - A 'gift box' So that during the year she can add items to the gift box - and when it comes time to gift things she has the cards and bags all in the one spot - BUT keep Christmas cards and boxes separate. I would suggest keeping the christmas gifts and cards separate from the christmas decor -as sometimes you have to send early ( to people overseas etc) before you may want to decorate you the house for the season. Then you can get the cards and wrap out easily without having to also go through the decorations. The Gift Box could be where you put lovely things you find during the year for either birthdays or christmas (and also a good place to 'ssshhh' pop in things you may want to regift - don't forget a little post it note so you know who gave it to you, so you don't give it back to them!)

Dani is very visual I’m sure her being able to see her things and being able to enjoy it all will be a game changer.

Can I just say these videos are helping me sooooo much! I thrift/sell online and have soooo much stuff, but have started to declutter watching and keeping only the good stuff for selling. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing the whole process which I’m sure is helping and Inspiron so many others like myself 💕

It really is a process. I've been a determined declutter diva for so many years. I'm disabled and sometimes I go down for months if not years. It was a problem when I was younger but I had a lot of medical and emotional issues. I did my best. I'm happy with where I am NOW because after years of feeling guilty about all this mess, I now ask myself: * WHAT IS ONE THING I CAN DO TODAY? * DOES THIS BELONG IN MY FUTURE? That is motivating to me without causing me to crumple into overwhelm. I KNOW that five minutes makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my mind, I can celebrate each action, and I can make a new choice to act tomorrow without hurting myself. Doing it this way, I have been making consistent progress. It won't happen tomorrow, but I know what my goals are, and they burn bright in my heart. MANY MANY THANKS to the amazing, emotionally warm & supportive clutter clearing coaches in YT. I'm going to be so proud when I get where I am going: HOME. ❤❤🎉❤❤

I think I said this last week, that the series with you mom is my favorite. But Tracey’s and Dani’s are tied for 2nd! Both of these ladies are so sweet and talented, and fun to see the switch go off when they realize they can actually get organized!

I want to color code all her clothing hehe! Once you color code your clothes you realize you don’t need near the amount of clothes you have because that really helped not have so many of the same colored clothes. I just kee my most favorite few of each color and that really helps curbing the desire to shop as well.

Fantastic result! So inspiring too. I just love this series so much. One thought about her bedroom; what would it look like to move the dresser that is by her bed to the wall where the door opens but closer to the chest (and where the baskets can be slid out) and move the upright 4 basket thing next to her bed. You can move the bed over a little more from the wall with the window, still have a “nightstand” but not crowd the door.

For jewelry storage in a small space, I used 6 hexagon shaped cork boards that I bought on Amazon, covered them in fabric to match my bedroom and hung them on the wall. I used clear push pins to hang my necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and even rings on them. Not only are they in view so I can see them to pick easily, but it makes beautiful wall décor for my room. No boxes shoved in a closet or drawer and not sitting on dressers.

That's gonna be such an impovement on thw quality of Dani's everyday life! Great job ❤

Suggestion...try moving the bed to the opposite wall that has the ledge and slope. You can add a long bookcase/cube storage on the ledge to use as a headboard/nightstand unit with storage. Recycle the current nightstand. More area to move around.

Making your bed each day will be much easier if you can easily get around three sides. So try moving the bed or get a smaller nightstand instead of that cube unit so you can move the bed closer to the door and not have to struggle to make the bed. Hopefully, you are already making the bed daily, Dani. It decreases the visual clutter.

So happy for another episode. This series has been my favorite of allllll the series you’ve done. Dani is amazing.

Absolute fantastic job, ladies! I have over the door storage like that on a number if my doors in my small home. I hang a curtain or fabric over them using twine through the rod sash and tied to the rack. Or, I clip the fabric on with binder clips or even safety pins. I just push it aside or unclip when I need it. That way it looks nice when it is not in use. I can't wait to see all of the final decor and the art installations when the organizing is complete!

She's doing so good. At least all "like" things are together, it's a great start. When she can go through each category and down size items, it will be make her feel even better. She has a great apartment would like to see her get the entire space under control and enjoy it!

I like that she is using the snorlax speaker holder you found in a previous declutter. It just shows how things that people want to use get lost in the clutter.

Does Dani have any further insight into what created the situation, now that she has moved so much farther along the process? I find this series and Tracey's so inspirational.

These videos have been a huge help for me getting through decluttering myself! I’m nowhere near done, but I am taking so much wisdom from you about how to make decisions and when to take breaks or be kinder to yourself than you would normally. Even the disclaimer about it being a real person is such a nice reminder to be aware of that myself.

Great result! Dani will be able to find her items now, and having the toiletries/cosmetics in view will incent her to use them and thus reduce the amount. I think she has too many clothes, but maybe she really does love fashion and will wear them. I do think the bookshelf should be in the bedroom (across from the foot of the bed?) so the books are accessible. The dresser by the bed could go where the small drawers with electronic stuff is swap them), so the doorway is more open.

Ive been decluttering my room while watching along to the Dani and Tracy series and honestly it's such good motivation! Im sure Dani would agree that without you she could not have done it, it's looking so amazing!

9:58 That's a DIY advent calendar: you put a goodie or little gift in each box, and the recipient can open one box each day from Dec 1st to the 24th. That's why the little boxes are numbered.

My advice for the seasonal/holiday closet is to move that bottom shelf if it’s movable. The clear bins should be on the bottom of the closet, and the lighter items on the shelf. I can totally see that bottom shelf buckling under all that weight. Separating the items will also make it easier to pull them out. I would also add another shelf at the top for those small baskets.

Fabulous! And remember - from here on out, one in-one out, so that stuff doesn't grow. I'm doing this now. Got new shoes so an old pair went to Goodwill. Why did I not realize this earlier?
