A Flight to Remember @ All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Oh - A Volunteer Effort for Hospice Patients

I volunteered to create this video for A Flight to Remember. A woman in hospice wanted to see her deceased marine husband's grave site one last time. A Flight to Remember Foundation's mission is as follows:
Through the lens of our drones, we are transporting patients to places that they may have never seen again.
Our participants and their families select a location that is meaningful to them. Our pilots will go to those special locations and fly their drone, capturing breathtaking views from heights up to 400 feet. We then create a Memento Video for our participant who can watch it while resting comfortably in their bed, surrounded by loved ones. This life enriching experience is the first of its kind.
If you are a drone pilot and you would like to sign up to help out, or have a family member or other loved one who would be enriched by such a work, or can otherwise contribute, please visit their website at www.flighttoremember.org/
How can seeing a special place via drone footage enrich the last days of a hospice patient?
Reconnection and Memory: Revisit a beloved location: Drone footage can offer a unique perspective of a place that holds special memories. The patient can virtually "walk" through familiar paths or see a favorite spot from a new angle, sparking cherished memories and sparking conversations.
Travel virtually: If a physical visit is too difficult, drone footage allows the patient to travel virtually to a dream destination they never got to see or revisit a cherished place from afar.
Emotional Comfort and Connection: Sense of peace and closure: Seeing a familiar or desired place can bring a sense of peace and closure. It allows the patient to connect with a place that holds meaning, even if they can't be there physically.
Connection with loved ones: Watching drone footage together can be a shared experience for the patient and their loved ones. They can reminisce about past visits and create new memories together.
Additional Considerations: Personalize the experience: Tailor the drone footage to the patient's preferences. Include landmarks, specific details, or even calming music to create a truly meaningful experience.
Comfort and accessibility: Ensure the patient is comfortable while watching. Use a large screen or tablet if needed, and adjust the volume for their hearing.
Emotions: Be prepared for a range of emotions. The footage may evoke joy, sadness, or even a sense of adventure.
By offering a unique and personal way to reconnect with special places, drone footage can be a valuable tool to enrich the last days of a hospice patient.
