I like how he suddenly looks back at the camera whenever he crashes, feels like the look you give to your friends whenever something awkward or unexpected happened like "did you see that?"
Your video editing and humor has been crazy awesome! I’ve been watching you for about 3 years now and always enjoy it
Ladies, Yes it's grey sweatpants season, but his drone is up there.
1:39 "it's also painted orange, so it fly faster"... yes that make sense 😂
Nice for showing all your approaches! So much experience condensed into a nice piece of edutainment!
Mate, sorry, but this moment when you fell - it was awesome. And it's not because I like when people suffer, it just shows how proud you are of content you make and how alive you are! Very good! Like it! Thanks for this content!
in my experiments ABS adheres VERY well to TPU. I've used it to make rigid parts that have a nice grippy surface to the bottom
1:39 So if you paint something orange it will go faster?! That's good to know :-)

The camera work and film making in this video was on another level compared to other videos of yours. The pace was great the little throw one drone into another and it magically comes together was a nice touch. Really nice work!
Thank you for your all mighty sacrifice of time and sanity for us to reap the benefits :P watching all the drone vids gave me a good laugh and has been truly educating I am now using the info on these different materials for speaker enclosures. Many thanks from Australia!

(Mainly electronics and motors, frames have gotten really tough) I wonder why Simon isn't flying with goggles anymore though? I mean he's using a screen now
Great channel dude!! Amazing. Can you do a tutorial about how to make a dron? As you have made in this video? It would be amazing
Your videos kick ass, mannnnn. Skills on the 3d printer, skills on building drones, skills flying drones and your sense of humor are awesome. Keep the great work and looking forward to your next video !

Awesome video! Longtime watcher, first time commenter here. Polypropylene is an awesome material for flexible applications, but the other huge part of designing something that is flexible in the right ways and rigid where necessary is the geometry. If you know how the frame is most likely going to be loaded during a crash, then you can adjust the geometry and get all the behavior you're looking for, even with materials that might not seem flexible at first. There are examples of metal devices that are designed to be flexible. Some great resources are the video "Machines That Bend Are Better" by Veritasium and the books "Compliant Mechanisms" and "Handbook of Compliant Mechanisms" by Howell. I'm currently taking a university course from Howell and it's really good stuff. Edit: Apparently I haven't watched quite enough of your videos, because I just got recommended your 3D printed compliant vectoring mechanism video. So you're definitely aware of the resources I mentioned. *Facepalm*
Hey! You came through on this endeavor! I get that it took a loon while with all those prints and testing them all one by one. But the more respect for carrying through on it. And what a result. Don´t you think it is time that you put an affiliate link for that filament in the description? I mean you deserved it if anyone does deserve to make a few pennies from that. Great work and great video. You had me laughing out loud several times throughout the video. Nicely edited. Keep it up.

How about adding propeller protection guards or stay out of the trees ?
6:01 got me 😂
I like it when you turn around real quick and look at the camera every time you crash, as if to check and see if we're still watching. Also those signature quotes, "I know I look like a PRO, but don't be dis-encouraged, if you can't crash like this, it take years of training" "A taste of impact strength" "Our chances are slim, hmm non existent". Thanks for the chuckles.

Just found this channel, subbed. awesome content

Excellent videos bro
Neat to see it work in the end. Halfway through your video you got me thinking maybe adding "breakaways" spots on the arms that are made to pop loose when you impact something. Having a joint on the arm that pops loose on impact using that motion to absorb/use the energy of the impact.
I'm glad you caught that on camera 😆
Love the head turn every time you crash lol
Awesome 👏
Mad LOS skillz!
Pretty nice on the los flying
I experimenting with elastan d70 now. Very strong material, also have a little flexing. On my ender 3 prints very well
This got me to Sub, watched loads of your vids now got me back into 3d printing :)
I use 0.065" weedwacker trimmer line for my source of cheap bulk Nylon filament. For Nylon I also recommend "rehydrating" the nylon, since printing evaporates the moisture in the filament. After a print I submerge my prints in hot tap water for about an hour. This should solve your issue with brittle nylon. Dry it off, and use. Great idea. I might try it myself.
The composite idea (using two different filaments) was pretty good, I think, maybe you should try to make some kind of inserts from one material to the frame made of another material. Like carbon fiber rod in a fixed wing of an airplane. You could even introduce steel rods to the drone's arms by melting the plastic a bit and just putting it, like a stick in a wet concrete.
really really good video
Good job 👏 👍
Man, you're so funny and cool. keep on
