Excellent video Mike!! Some great shots of lots of freight workings you got there!! Nice to see lots of 67s however shame Castle Sets dont serve here anymore!! Nice to see a 150 on the Ebbw Vale as well to mix things up!

Agreed Mike not quite the amount of freights Newport used to get but wow when it comes to Redsheds well still plenty of them hoooray! A great session there and yes plenty of Skip action you caught. Went for the Arpley hoppers earlier, it was db's first regeared 66651 and it's first appearance on this working. Hope you hsve a great weekend, speak soon take care cheers Nick.

Thank you Colin, this video was a bit longer coming as I had some problems on the day but it all got sorted on Thursday night. I agree South Wales was one of the best areas to visit, and even better on a Sunday when all the locos were on depots, all very sad, cheers Mike.

Massive respect for ignoring The IETs😂 Shame we've lost a lot of freight here since the good old days of the 80s and 90s where coal,steel and oil trains were a plenty.

Spent many hours at Newport (as passenger) until a few years ago. Must have improved the trains. Man Picc trains used to be packed 2 coachers as were X Country to Nottingham and GWR to Southampton. A farce.

Yes its a shadow of what it used to be, but maybe the music you enjoy could get you that way one day.

Superb shots and captures there Mike. Nice sounds and liveries. Good action and variety. Shame there wasn't as much freight as Newport used to get. Nice double with Maritime 047 on the tankers! Yes I think they will go over to DB 66/6s but I would rather have kept the class 60 running. I agree that T&T working was a good one to see, thank you for your comment. ps when are you going to upload your Aberdovey filming.

Did those 67’s need any gearing changes to work passenger trains? I ask because this is the first time I have seen them working like this.

They were built for 125mph running. The only locos in the UK with that capability (if you dont count HSts as locos)
