Moving to the other side of the world is a massive decision for anyone to make, but how do children feel when their parents decide to up sticks and go to live in a different country? In My Life: One Way Ticket we find out, as we follow 10-year-old Daniel and his family as they move lock, stock and barrel from Devon, England to Wellington, New Zealand.
As well as being excited about the big adventure, Daniel is also sad to be saying goodbye to his grandparents, friends and pet cat Bailey. But will the family settle into their brand-new life in New Zealand or decide to return home?

When we moved to Canada from Austria we took 3 dogs and 4 cats with us. Can’t leave them behind, they are part of the family
The boys saying goodbye to their grandparents and friends and especially Bailey broke me. Every time one of them brought up never seeing bailey again it broke my heart a little more

Oh my gosh what adorable little boys. So happy for them that they are happy. I feel a bit bad about the grandparents maybe they should move to New Zealand. And ofcourse the cat but he seems to have a nice new family so that's good.

Yeah for me the sad part is family not seeing eachother. Grandparents should go live there as well to enjoy their grandchildren.

Welcome to Nz guys! I live in Porirua. I hope you are enjoying it here! I would find it very hard saying goodbye to my cats too if I had to Dan! You were very brave.
As we say down here, "You can't beat Wellington on a good day!" It is a pretty city when the weather is fine. Not so nice when it is windy and cold. I lived there as a child but have lived in Auckland most of my life. The earthquakes are small ones - under 5.

Good video, but I'd like the info on the issue of financing. 🤩
If I was emigrating.. the cat is coming with me! We are even driving to France and flying from France so the cat can go in the cabin WITH ME That 10 year old boy crying about having to leave his cat behind and not ever seeing his cat again. I couldn't do it. We're eating rice and beans, we aren't going out, we're all doing overtime and extra jobs... we're paying for the cat to come too.
I had 2 give a cat away. My ex said hed take him lied. I got him as a Kitten n hed always sleep on my legs. I dont know where he is😢. Hope they all make it out ok.
It's a one way ticket to another world.
My oldest lives 4 hours away and that's too much.
I wonder why they couldn’t take the kitty and keep it inside.

Looks like it's about £3k in total plus the stress to the cat of flights & quarantine Little white lie maybe

They did get the cat a new place to live where im sure he will be taken good care of with his new family that will give him just as much love and attention.
