what I love so much about narrow gauge industrials is just how many aftermarket mods the operators do preserving a locomotive is great, but actively improving it with home-grown creature comforts and upgrades adds so much more interest to it

The rail equivalent of a lawnmower. Just a goofy little tractor built to do one simple thing and be comfy enough to make you not totally hate using it.

Did it come from a van pulled behind a standard gauge "Thunderbird 2"? A very fun little loco, the name really suits its looks!

Because of this channel I started to volunteer at foxfield railway and can I just say there's no way the miniature railway will be open by the 20th the turntable well hasn't been fully dug out and we can't go on part of the loop because it's to overgrown and damaged but the bar will definitely be open don't worry

Not really disappointed at all nice to see one of the last Motorail engines running. it is one of those locos that looks wrong on its own but is perfect with a rake of skips wagons behind it. Love it.

Excellent video. This was the first loco I ever drove back in 1993 at the Tiny Tramway Mineing Company (the e is correct!). The TTMC was a back yard railway owned and built by Tim Shelton. The railway basically comprised of a loop around the garden with sidings going off to various sheds. Play value was added by a working sand mine that Tim had dug to extract sand for his landscaping business. It was a totally bonkers place. When I knew the loco it was named "Pride of Corfe" and had a Petter PH2 engine.

This is actually what I was expecting, but from hearing the backstory of this engine I would say it deserved that name. FAB! P.S. Maybe you could've done a Thunderbirds style launch sequence. Just Suggesting.

Could be worse. You can officially call a resident Ffesterbahn Hunslet "Harold" all day long, but if it comes with No.7195's back story, it's more alliterative familiar moniker rather lacks the prestige of "Thunderbird 4" Go on ... search 'Festipedia Locomotives nickname list' [gratuitous plug of the day].

I Love this little gut but honestly to really make it a proper Thunderbird 4 you should put the pilots name under the Thunderbird 4 or on the cab somewhere? "GORDON TRACY" Now that would be a real tribute to Thunderbird 4 hahaha 😆 but also, I think it needs a proper power steam wash and a new paint job in Thunderbird 4 yellow? Just my opinion hahaha 😅

My brain won't do an aesthetic judgement of the end plates/buffer beams on account of expecting they are that tall in order to add mass which adds weight which adds tractive effort. (up to a certain point).

Not disapointed with this tribute to T-Bird 4. Given it's proven rescue abilities I feel it's justly deserved. I do though take great exception to you pushing your inadequacies relating to the degree to which you are vertically challenged (PC Term ..there could be children and ladies viewing), onto the locomotive in question. I feel this is grossly unfair and ask you to in future please, think of how the locomotive may feel.
