The Bible states that angels are “messengers” but like literally everything in the Bible this is left to interpretation the news that they bring can be anything from hey x event is going to happen or being the actual deliverer of plagues. The “angels” some people might be thinking of are those of “men’s souls made perfect” which are the traditional “angels”. But actual angels are seen by prophets as non-euclidean beings usually formed of rings with eyes on the crests and three pairs of fiery wings. So even if angles are inherently “good” (which they don’t have to be) they’re still kinda horrifying.

Traditional angels are not “men’s souls made perfect.” The concept of angels being human souls in heaven is a modern invention of *some* American Christians. In Christianity, Judaism, and Islam angels are traditionally considered to be entirely separate beings from men that are purely spiritual in nature, having no defined physical form or body. They can take on a variety of physical forms, including examples dating back to the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible of them taking in a human form (despite what the “biblically accurate angels” meme might lead you to believe).
