Youngstown mill creek parks beautiful

Thanks, so much, for posting the video. I grew up in Youngstown, but my family in 1976. I have very nostalgic memories of the city, Idora Park and Mill Creek Park . I hope to get back to visit, but I know it will be bittersweet. Thanks, again!

I was born in Youngstown and raised in Boardman. I left in 1980 at the age of 23 and went to Texas. I still go back every year and am always in touch with family and friends. There are wonderful memories of growing up there, one of the most beautiful parks in the country- Mill Creek Park, the amusement park Idora Park (gone since 1984), and the once booming steel industry made the city thrive. My late Mom would tell me about her dressing up as a child and going down town with her parents. Lots of great dining and fabulous food that would rival Chicago or NY. I think of it often and miss it. Youngstown, could have re invented itself but never figured out how to do it. A person could buy a beautiful home in a nice part a town for a very reasonable price. But then you have 6 mos. of cold weather and overcast skies. The summers are nice and fall colors. Home will always be home.

I used to live on Youngstown. I wish you would make your videos in the spring or summer when there are leaves on the trees. Let's show everyone Youngstown can be beautiful.

I love Youngstown because nobody lives there anymore consequently; nobody bothers me.

Best surplus joint in the NE at 6:55 Star Supply on Midlothian I drive down from buffalo, NY to buy stuff there.

To Brian, I'm not sure what the music it was as was royalty free stuff supplied with my defunct video editor. I'm actually Canadian living in Toronto and get to the Niles/Youngstown area and do video as a sideline

I used to work at the building @ 6:25 back in 1994-96. It used to be where Special Busing kept their buses.

I was planning on moving to Youngstown Oh from reading pa, I guess i should rethink my options. what are the best places to live over there? I was also thinking about Akron

I left Youngstown in 1998. I lived in Cleveland, Phoenix Arizona,and am currently in Las Vegas Nevada for 14 years. I never regretted leaving Youngstown. These videos reminded me of why I left.

I am from germany never been to america but my dad was from youngstown, sad to see and hear about the City is messed up... My grandma said that my grandpa built the house where they lived on his own, maybe its still there

im from Youngstown and i love it. i left do to jobs. but there are good places board- man. as they say. Girard n Niles Austintown. they're great places to live. i grow up on the northside of Youngstown back in the day. i loved it. and yes it will come back one day.

Very interesting. Never lived in Ohio, mostly I stayed out west. Seems quite sad there. Almost no foot traffic on a Friday. Love the music for this video. What's it called?

That's not all of Ohio though. Only two cities are really depressing, Toledo and Youngstown. Cleveland is a very cool place to visit and has a lot of stuff going on, and Columbus and Cincinnati are great places to live.

Mill Greek is a park go south side or east side what they have done is a shame

I know the area as I'm from Canada and have a soft spot for it knowing the history, and listen to the local Public Radio channel from there. LOVE Mill Creek Metro Park and Lanteman's Mill

Cities are born and die. maybe we should accept this and just close down these dying cities. Could Youngstown revive? Hard to see how.
