A DIY Resin 3D Printer that is 100% Open Source !

Ғылым және технология

Large format, DIY, performant, open source and much more ! The Prometheus MSLA is the first large format resin 3D printer in the world. The FDM community has a lot of machine that is open source but unfortunately in the resin side we are locked with Chinese manufacturer that just want your money. So this is why we want to give you an alternative to that ! Building a Prometheus is not much more expensive and it's for sure a Elegoo Saturn Killer !

The "arm" of the printer is made in aluminum and 3D printed parts. The bed holder is in fact 3D printed but behing with that thickness and in PLA it makes very rigid and stiff parts. The only "flex" i could see with an indicator and quite some force is at the back of the arm (where the two aluminum parts meet)… but honnestly with the "wait" period before exposing the resin it come back to normal and didnt have any issue with that what so ever ! … but btw maybe we will see full metal kit one day :) … everything is can be download and can be order in aluminum at place like PCBWAY

This is an awesome and long overdue project. I had an old anycubic photon and broke the control LCD so I couldn't start any prints. Unlike an open source FDM machine there was no option to print from a PC so that would be a welcome feature. Another thought: could the design work using an DLP projector rather than an LCD? They are fairly common to find on ebay with missing or burned out bulbs - that would be replaced with a UV source in this case.

Not every LCD is the same. It may works but you will need to have a hdmi driver board for it and honnestly the pain to work with an RGB screen is not worth it. If ever 13.6 inch is not in your budget you can look for something like 10.1 inch mono. ** make sure to have a HDMI driver for it and you will need to change the pi config file.
