A Disappearing "Work From Home" Desk
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I go through my desk setup and what I do to make working from home easy when living in a micro apartment.
The best thing about this desk setup is that in total it cost just over £70!

That peg board was genius. This video makes me want to become even more minimal!

Becoming minimalistic seems a bit of a paradox
The folding hinges are really inspiring. I’ve been looking for a good way to create a fold-away table/desk for me. I’m in a wheelchair and I need the table to be a perfect height for me to be able to park below it. And I also need there to be no support beam in the way, which most foldable tables have. These hinges solve these problems! Thanks for the inspiration!
So good! I'll definitely take a hint or two from your setup and your apartment video.
I really appreciate your approach to minimalism because it’s practical and not pretentious. Been working from home for the past few days due to quarantine and this is giving me a lot of great ideas. I’d really like to see your take on tech and cable management, because honestly, as an aspiring minimalist, cable clutter is my worst nightmare. Thanks for the great tips.
It actually did help I've always been hating the fact that my room is small but after watching your videos I feel like I can use it in a smart way! Thank you so much Daniel
This is utterly brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing, definitely going to work on setting up something similar for myself!
I love the folding table so much! I love how table hides away so that there is more space in the apartment. Also, I really like the side shelving because it keeps things away and also easy to find. I like idea of wireless. Thank you for sharing because sharing is caring 🙂
Thanks for showing the folding hinges! That's a great idea. I was considering another folded desk option that creates a shelf afterwards, but this is a sleek option too!
All well thought out and functional. I’m going to consider that for my space.
Love the peg board! This video inspired me so much to rethink my working area. Thankyou so much Daniel :)
I like your work. Please make more videos I would love to watch more from you. Best of luck 👌🏻🙏🏻
I have watched all your videos multiple times. They are just amazing. I just moved into a studio apartment. I am so excited to work with the space!
Thanks for sharing this! Built this in my dorm room - looks great, easy to use, and lots of compliments :)
Awesome video Daniel!
Thank you for the great video. Went to IKEA ordered the hinges installed it and just perfect.
I’m glad I found your channel. I’ve been binge watching for a while now
This is really neat, especially the peg-board for all essential desk items. I guess my struggle is the need for an ergonomic chair with decent back support (always seem to be massive!), and my love of a desk that can transition between sitting and standing. The principles here are great, and the folding is fantastic...thank you for sharing!
This is really a Helpful Video. Thank You.
Amazing home office!!! Very simple and easy but really fantastic... I'll decorate my home office the same way... Thank you for the amazing inspiration my friend! ^^
Thanks Daniele - this is the perfect solution for me.
Very nice peg board I really like your way of using the the things thanks for sharing your ideas with us
This is great! I have had the same idea but have been looking to hide the screen by creating a box behind the folding table top to house the monitor. So when the monitor is required it would then raise up. I plan on trying it soon! Lets hope for the best.
Who would have known this video would be of even more relevance now?! Very smart solutions, love your channel!
Looking forward to seeing more in regards to minimising your tech related items for home/ work environments
Simple and cool ideas
Great video, thanks.
Nice! I did this exact setup 2yrs ago. Cool to see a vid on it. I couldn't find any videos on it before so I just had get creative.
This is simply beautiful
Nice vid rly well made!!
Inspirational for a small space to be turned into a work area, amazing
I loved your appartment. It's so cleverly crafted and definitely inspiring for an emerging minimalist. Greetings from Mexico.

Thanks Omar! Really appreciate the support!
This is great; I've been thinking about putting a desk in my room, but it's small (barely 12 feet by 12 feet), and this adds the option to do that just that.
You were right on time with this one!
Wow thank you very much 😊 ❤️ it's very nice and beautiful 😍
this is brilliant!
Amazing videos. Hope you make a lot more.

Truly inspiring!
Great video. Do more please.
Peg board is a great idea. Will be keeping that in mind when I move into my next tiny apartment in Asia 😅, post more content!
This is quite helpful
Thanks for sharing 🙏
this is EXACTLY what i was looking for !!!
This is perfect due to the current situation
Lovely very organised.
Great idea!
Came here from your apartment tour, I’ve got so many ideas now thanks
I am actually going to add this to my open shelving ☺️
Brilliant Video!
Nice, very clean.
I am going to get this thank u
brilliant!
Keep making videos, you're great
This is so pleasing. Can you do more for your kitchen too, especially since you are not renovating it?

Thank you Jerrieson! I’ll put it on my to do list for you! Keep an eye out! 😃
Just came across your channel... looks like you’ve had this account for a while, but just started posting videos - I like the videos I see so far... subscribed and excited to see more! 😎
Pretty cool.
I mean that’s great and all, but I’ve been thinking about how to make an even more functional surface that tucks away but when it’s open to have maybe a sliding keyboard tray underneath, or maybe it would flips upwards and holds some items while it’s up against the wall. The pegboard idea works for me though!
Thanks for the Video. Maybe you might add bright adjustable LED from above
Tres cool 👍🏼
New to your videos and love how you’ve utilised your small spaces! Please do a minimalist tech video (I feel like tech needs to be constantly upgraded and in the process I’ve accumulated so much tech that I’ve hardly used and I dont know what to do with and feel overwhelmed by tech that I feel like it’s become cluttered and stressful rather than useful). Also a minimalist money video - have ended with loads of different bank accounts and cards for different purposes and it’s become very stressful!) Ps you may be the female version of one the earliest minimalist YT’ers ‘Cocobylight’ - LOVED her content, she inspired me to start creating a minimalist lifestyle, unfortunately she stopped YT sometime ago and it actually broke my heart. So glad to have accidents found you!!!
My current set up is in our storage room with a folding table. We are de cluttering small areas at a time. I would love to have this set up in an interior wall of of apartments as the walls with windows are made of plaster. I think we putting our 20 inch tv on an arm would allow up to rotate as needed, while at the same time using it as a monitor and probably a permanent home for our SNES.
Do more videos related architecture. Your project tour perhaps! Great work 👍👍

Thanks Nazirul! I’ll see what I can come up with!
Definitely inspired me to reconsider ways I can maximise our small living space with smart solutions like this. However, living in a rental means no drilling holes into walls so I'm wondering if you have any ideas around that as an architect?
Wonderful video bro , love from Punjab , India
I love your videos! Like some others here, I also would like to see a video on minimizing technological devices, cables, charging stations, etc. Can you tell us where you store laptops when your desk is folded down and not in use?
You're entire apartment and the furniture/hacks are brilliant. Personally my one complaint is that I rely on a standing desk. Being able to transition between sitting and standing throughout the day is absolutely essential for remote working, in my humble opinion.
this is exactly what im doing before i even seen the video, bought the monitor mount, hinges and ikea table
Do a video on your wardrobe please!
Ahh thanks for that iw as looking for a fold down desk :)
Oh! I have the same mouse!!!!! GREAT! Love it!
Very inspiring for my apartment in Manhattan Daniel, thank you. Is there anyone who can suggest a good office chair? Like a REALLY good one?
Hey Daniel, thank you for the content! I’ve got a question I’m hoping you can answer. You inspired me to create this desk setup, and I’d like to know if you anchored the foldable-hinges onto drywall, or studs. I’m trying with the drywall, and I can’t see this holding up the desk. So im not even going to place the second in.
Definitely inspired. Minimalism in the kitchen would be great. I’ve seen your house tour and know what is in your kitchen but would like to know how minimalism applies to your cooking habits. Do you keep any physical memory items?

Thanks so much for the feedback Ann! Really appreciate it. I’ll definitely try and cover this in another video 🙌🏼
Looks really nice. I did watch your previous video (the room-tour one) and was impressed by how you've decided to custom-order a bed with big storage underneath. I wonder if you are planning to renovate your kitchen as well?

Thanks!! I'm considering what I can do to improve it by spending and consuming as little as possible 🤔... Any ideas?
Please make more videos!
Hey there new to your channel and so far I’ve seen a lot of great content. Love this idea but where do you store your peg board when not I use? I noticed it missing in someone your shots.
This is Nice
Nice
I NEEEEEED THIS
I like the folding desk. I’m just about to move into a 52sqm apartment with no study. What do you do with the office chair when not in use?
that is nice one thing I observed. the way you keep your windows laptop. look at its temperature while its on, in that cabinet the air flow is not that good. i had some problems with mine in a similar way
Hey Daniel, what is the silver mount on the tilt shift (?) lens? Any idea if it will fit other lenses of the same diameter too?
Hey Daniel! I'm setting up one just like yours since I think it is just great! I just have one question and hope you can help me hehe.. based on the link to the tabletop, I can see that you used a 100cmx60cm one. Would you have chosen the 120cmx60cm instead? I'm currently having that dilemma since I love to have enough space when at desk, but again, I'm not sure if the 120cm one would look kind of "oversized" even when I have enough room space. Thanks for your advise!!
Hi Daniel. What makes and models of adjustable arm and foldable hinges have you used for your monitor and desk respectively?
This is amazing, what are the measurements of your desk?
I just want to say. I was here before your channel blew up. Amazing Video!!

Daniel Titchener you should be, your video is a master piece.
I really enjoyed both of your videos! Would you mind leaving a list of furniture links in the apartment tour video? I really like the modular console and table. I’d love to know where to buy them. TIA!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Daniel! Hope you and Nisha have a wonderful day...evening. 😁
I like the idea of the peg wall but I wonder it there is a way to hid it on the other side of the desk
Nice video , also love the chair , can you place the chair link in your description please

Thanks! Its from IKEA. Link below 😊 www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/langfjaell-conference-chair-gunnared-dark-grey-black-s39175065/
How could this have employed a sit/stand desk? ie. Option for higher desk and corresponding option to elevate the monitor? Thanks.
Hello Daniel! How did you screw into the Linnmon desk... The desk is hollow so the screw just comes loose for me. Thanks!
Do you do anything with that chair after you fold the table? Do you have another table for eating nearby where you put it or something? I am asking because it doesn't really matter in my opinion if you have a normal table in that space with the chair tucked under it or just the chair. The space economy is minimal.
I almost can smell the coffee...nice video.
what is the chair in the video? like the thin back and shape of it!
I wonder if there's a way to install this setup sideways? Is there a way to set up the external screen and desk to fold flat to the wall on your left? How do you gauge how much weight the desk setup can hold vs the strength of the wall? At what desk size would you need to add an additional set of folding legs for stability when the desktop was extended?
How did you attach the desk to the hinges?
Would be great if you tell how you hide wires inside the wall
Where you get the mouse
