    I see what you are talking about, but there's no reason or need to change the name of the book. The book of Acts...of the Apostles, works for me.

    he's not suggesting the change for real, but simply pointing out the kingdom-building activity of Christ himself through the apostles as his agents. Hence, the book is actually a record of the acts of the ascended Christ through his Spirit-empowered apostles.

    I think it would actually be more appropriate to call it Acts of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit (sometimes referred to as God) that does all the work. He speaks through the apostles. He (God) commands what Peter says to Cornelius. It is the Holy Spirit at work, thru the mouths and bodies of the apostle. But since Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit are One but Three, it wouldn't necessarily be wrong to say these are the Acts of Jesus, just not completely right.
