You have to understand, the average cop basically only knows two things: how to interrogate and how to punch their spouse/partner. Asking them to learn how to do a third thing would be simply too much cognitive load for them to handle. They would probably have a stroke just trying. That's why they irrationally fear fent; anything that isn't assaulting a spouse or mistreating a suspect only generates an extreme emotional response. If you end up working in an ER, you'll learn what I mean.

When Ryan awoke, he was in such a poor mental state from his injuries that he thought his girlfriend was simply asleep on the couch when she was actually dead. When her parents hadn't heard from her, they called police for a wellness check I think. And that's when they found her and took Ryan into custody. There's several videos about this case.
I don't understand how a "detective" that doesn't even contemplate that a suspect that is mumbling, incoherent, disperse, sleepy, stressed out, with a huge red mark on his face, and saying he was shot in the eye, could actually be telling the truth, can even be called a detective. I don't understand how he can be called anything but a moron for that matter.

Never in my life have I seen a person look at a physical injury like this and say "you're faking it" That cop has -400 vision in both eyes
@ericforsyth

To be fair, acting doesn't have to mean simulating. At that point, it sounds like he means it as "his actions indicate brain damage", although that obviously doesn't excuse the detective's previous actions. I rewatched it after commenting, and he even says "which would make sense". Nothing about faking it.
@Deathranger999

@@ericforsythI would argue that “acting” definitely comes with the connotation of behaving in a way that isn’t genuine. “Behaving like someone with brain injuries would” is a much better neutral substitute for “acting.”

@@Deathranger999 Connotations vary with culture. It's plausible yours is closer to his, and that the word carries similar connotations to him, and it's not like he's earned the benefit of the doubt here, but a lot of people at least would not interpret that as accusations of malingering
I honestly would’ve started crying. I can’t imagine how it would feel to be asked all sorts of questions with barely being able to answer them while your whole head is hurting. I feel so sorry for him.

He probably couldn’t cry with the brain damage, he just kept saying he wanted to go to sleep. He even said that he wanted to let Heather sleep after getting shot. He probably couldn’t process anything emotional. Just confused, tired, and in pain. That department should’ve been sued to hell and the detective should’ve been charged with gross negligence and fired.

Unbelievable. Why is he treated like an animal? Every brain injury makes people want to go to sleep, it a body's reaction. Some never wake up. The victim is in a tremendous pain. He does not care about it all.
That was so hard to watch. That "detective" should have been fired! R.I.P Ryan ❤
Also for context Ryan was completely innocent. His apartment was broken into. He was shot twice in the head and lost consciousness. His girlfriend was shot and killed by the perpetrators. Edit: I probably got a few of the details wrong but I do remember seeing a video on this case and from what I remember Ryan was most definitely innocent.

Inability to exhibit hatred and violence without psychosexual motive is atypical of virgins in every species, and the leading cause of rookie cops choking under pressure. As some men would say their balls have yet to drop. He will continue to chase after dead princesses rather than saving a life. You have to be cracked and redpilled maybe even taken a bullet just to get a semblance of based intuition.
“You don’t know a lot, Ryan. 😒” “Well that’s because my brains leaking out of the back of my head, jackass” “This does not make sense Ryan!” “You’re telling me! I’m pretty sure I died about an hour ago but I’m here talking to you!”
Can you imagine living another 10 years the way he did? I would be tempted to end things myself, but Ryan Waller hung in there. If you’re going through a hard time, remember it can’t be tougher than what Ryan went through.
