That feeling when your high school band from some town in Florida becomes such a staple in the scene that people will come from miles away to your 'museum.' I can't imagine what it's like to have impacted so many lives that people want to learn about everything you went through. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.

It's just for live, I asked Neil about this on a livestream and he said they play some songs in lower tunings just so they don't have to switch guitars often

They probably play most songs that are in drop C in drop B instead for live performances bc its probably easier for Jeremy and means they don't have to change guitars as often. It's only a half step down so most people don't even notice. The only songs they probably play in C are their more popular songs like downfall.

They play Better Off This Way in Drop A now. The original tuning is Drop B but for live they’ve always played it in Drop A# until last year. Last year they got rid of Drop A# completely and now play every Drop A# song in Drop A. I like it tho, much darker sounding in my opinion.

Hello adtr!

Can anyone explain why Jeremy says a lot that they're just now learning the songs? How do you record a song that you don't really know or haven't played and created together?

They learn the parts in order to track them, but then need to learn to play them in full, as a band and get the dynamics right. Some bands learn songs and play them live before recording, others record them first, fine tune them with a producer, and then learn them to introduce them live...the latter is probably a more professional way to do it. Hope that helps dude :)

I think Jeremy comes up with alot of the lyrics, and melodies, pretty sure he does rhythm guitar, he finds a way to incorporate them together and I think has a plan that the rest of them fills in after

@@wildheartsphotography8081 thats interesting. I just always assumed that they say around and jammed and filled different parts in until it sounded good and then took that to recording. I know that Jeremy does a lot of their songwriting and such. Thanks for the reply!

Andrew Schlup yeah hardly any bands sit down and jam out new tunes. It’s not the 60’s and 70’s where you’d sit down in a studio for a month and get high and jam things out. No bands can afford that kind of studio time.

If I understand it correctly, I believe they did the song in parts, as many bands probably do, and were trying to put it all together into one whole song. Now, in the way of the vocals, that is mostly a memory thing. It only takes one great attempt out of multiple for the recording but it should, in theory, be perfect for the show. They don't want to mess up a song and potentially kill the vibe and make an embarrassing moment. It is interesting that they did have some issues with the instrumentals in the rehearsals. I figured they would have known it more, but maybe they hadn't played/practiced it recent to the show enough to remember the parts exactly. I might not be right, but it's my thought.
