A Day of HYBRID TRAINING | Postdoc & CEO
I am excited to take all of you along with me for a day-in-the-life! #HybridTrainingEdition
Today consists of a lift in the morning, my postdoc lab work and a guest lecture in the middle of the day and then wrapping up the day with a Zone 2 run and work for my business. Full day!
I also share the importance of fueling on days like this, how I like to combine lifting + running (hybrid training) and everything in between. Hope you enjoy and learned something new. :)

Love it! Those high step up’s look so high!! 😅
Such a realistic day! Its really hot in Texas right now. I run early in the AM. Its been really difficult with the humidity, but somehow get it done. Mostly cutting my mileage short by 20-30% and taking 30-60 second breaks during my runs is helping me survive my summer runs!

I was watching this on my phone while on an indoor bike and at first glance it seemed like you are doing the carriers with the dog as a weight and was like, huh, I'm not even surprised and quite impressed 😂 and thanks for showing the nice and uhly, the nitty gritty, once again!

Functional doggie fitness. 🤣
Love that you showed your failed lifts! I feel like so many people edit those out and then I feel like I'm the only one that just doesn't get it every time. Q: if it was insanely hot out (108 for me this weekend) would you swap your run to the morning and lift in the afternoon/evening? Or is that a no-no?

I always show my bad lifts! Its normal and we just laugh it off, problem solve, and move on! And if you follow me on IG or not (@doclyssfitness) I've posted some stuff on training in the heat recently. I have been running in the morning but sometimes do later in the day. It depends on what you are adapted to. 108 is high so I would prob opt for a morning run. This week i did a double day and did a lift PM run AM.
Wow! Inspires me to keep on keepin on with full time job and school, kids and training😂❤

"If I was an intagram influencer I would make dramatic ass noises throughout my workout but I'm a normal person." I laughed so hard at this.

I love the idea of a double day! It seems like a great way to get my lifts and runs in with potentially more rest time in between, especially during busy weeks, but is that something only more experienced athletes should be doing and that beginners should avoid? Or could beginners play with that as long as we manage overall load?

It more so depends on if you can handle it and how much you are doing. I usually double up 1x/week maybe 2 tops when my running volume is really high. But the rest of the year don't as often unless its say a in gym cardio after a lift. For beginners, the issues is you can't handle as much overall. So a 3x lift + 4-5x run/cardio week for me may be as hard on me as say 2-3 lifts + 3 runs for you. My ebook hybrid covers these differences and weekly set ups for beginners as well as as you make progress in fitness!

@@doclyssfitness oh ok that makes sense. I’m saving up for Hybrid actually! Endure has already been really insightful, but I’m definitely getting more and more interested in seeing how to add in the strength training in a less noobish way haha
That nutrition be so important!!

Great Video! 😊👍 Also nice to see failed attempts and keeping it real. Gym doggies are also always great 🐶 Love to see more of your training 🏋️ PS: the music was sometimes a bit too loud, and it wasn't always easy to understand you, but not to bad
