A day of hunting with a catapult with Wayne Martin.
In this KZread video, join Wayne Martin on a hunt with a catapult at Childerley Sporting Estate, as he discusses the benefits and challenges of using this often-overlooked tool for hunting. Catapult hunting was once a common practice for survivalists, and it remains a valid method for bushcrafters and those interested in field to fork experiences. Wayne shares his experience with his own design EVO Field Pro catapult and his preferred ammunition. Everything you need to know is here from what ammo and bands to use to additional equipment that comes in handy during the hunt. He emphasizes the importance of practice and developing aim, as well as the technique for holding and releasing the projectile. This is one not to be missed for all catapult and bushcraft enthusiasts.

Outstanding! Old school hunter gatherer. Takes me back to my Black Widow all those years ago , mid 80’s . Great to see it done in 2024 🇮🇪🇮🇪

I've gotten plenty in the past with my black widow and still take it out in my bag on walks, just in case. I've had the same one since a kid, only thing I've done is take the wrist brace off.

@@chongy9895 great memories 🇮🇪👌👌
This is fascinating and I’m glad this sport seems to be gaining traction. As a kid I hunted semi-successfully with wrist rockets, but then began hunting with slingshots almost two years ago. I especially like taking them with me as I’m big game hunting with a rifle or bow and then if I see a legal small game animal or bird I can take it with my slingshot. It’s quiet, in my opinion inexpensive and exciting. Have taken multiple species of rabbits, ground squirrel, grouse and invasive birds to the US.
Love watching a master in his art at work. Wayne your an absolute inspiration. And well done to Jack Pyke on this video. The video is shot so gracefully and professionally. It is a true compliment to Wayne’s life and work. Thanks again. 👍

Excellent as always, a luxury to be able to see your videos. Greetings from Argentina
Wow, this video showcases some incredible slingshot skills in action! The accuracy and precision needed for hunting with a slingshot is truly impressive. It's not just about the thrill of the hunt but also the respect for nature and the environment. Kudos to the hunter for demonstrating great marksmanship while enjoying the outdoors. This video is a perfect blend of adventure and appreciation. Sir can you pin my comment?

Hi Martin 0.85red band Taper 25/20 What active band length u cut plz?
@CattyShackHunter

It depends on the time of year. Shorter in the cold, longer in the hot. I have an 81cm draw length, and use an active length from 16.5 - 17.5cm 👍
So have you got yourself a catapult yet then.😊👌👍 Plus really enjoyed that but never happy as I wish it was longer.😞

Absolutely. We have wood pigeons and city pigeons. You only want to be taking the wood pigeons with the white on the neck. They’re much smarter and cleaner. Double the size too.
