Khaddum is the only Hmar village in Meghalaya. The village founder Pawnga migrated to Jaintia Hills from Manipur in 1948 as per local sources.

Thank you for video covering of such a remote village Khaddum one of the.two villages of the Hmar people in Meghalaya.The village was said to be established by a very brave and sturdy man named (L)Tiengzapau Pangamte also known as Pawnga( Pongnga).. However, it is pathetic to see lifeless river Lukha polluted by industrial minings. The river is so beautiful. It needs proper protection by the government

The river is beautiful but dead!! No more fishes and other living things because of effluent and cement carpet along the river that came out of cement factories.
