Awwww he’s gorgeous! We found having a blanket over the crate helped settle our dog more 😊 not right over the door but the top and sides , he felt more secure I think .

I’m sure that you have thought about firework training so that he gets used used to the loud noises, so many dogs seem to be terrified of fireworks when it could be prevented. Eekk omg your lovely Barney ! You got some lovely footage of him in the Vlog . Especially from halfway through from after the haul when you went and checked on him in the lounge and he was sleeping on his back . He is such a cute puppy and will be vert obedient as the older he gets. I don’t know how you manage to get any work done . SO CUTE . ❤️🐶x

Freya you have done so well with training - well done. I highly recommend using a whistle for recall - start with blowing it to call him for his food - every meal time - and when you are playing with him - blow whistle and also give verbal command of come - do it in garden too - it makes recall so much easier when you do get out so much easier - obviously you are rewarding him when he comes - in fact when I train - i wear the whistle all the time. Keep up the good work - he is Devine 🥰

@@FreyaFarrington acme whistles are 211.5 i believe is what Retriever groups tend to use - highly recommend - as when pups you are correct they stay close but teenagers don’t listen so much and your voice doesn’t carry - keep up the great training and of course the wonderful videos. 😊🌸

My 2 little girls , my chiahuahua and my yorkie are the best little friends I could get. I’ve got 2 boys so needed some female companion. Barney will be your best little friend you could ever have . So cute and love to watch them sleeping 😴 and playing 🐶 soooo 🥰 cute!! ❤️

Lovely to see you training him straight away, he's going to be an absolute pleasure. x (hugs for Barney) xxx Ps, forgot to add ..... have you seen a Bissell Spotcleaner? It's a machine for carpets, upholstery, car, bed, it deep cleans them all. Takes seconds to use, small enough to fit under sink, or other small cupboard and brill if you have any pet mishaps that need a shampoo type level clean. I have 2 machines, one for house, one for car and they are one of my fav things. Also, grab a set of baby listeners, some come with a mini cctv screen these days, so you can hear Barney and see him easier :-D

I have two Greyhounds and use a dremel micro 8020, mine both have black nails so much easier than using nail clippers. Also doubles up as a diy tool.

You’ve got training down to a T, doing all the things we did in kennel club puppy class. He is so keen to learn. Golden retrievers and labs are the best. So intelligent and caring. He’s just so adorable, but your right he does poop a lot lol xx

We take our dog to the Groom Room within Pets at Home. We just couldn’t do it properly because he has black nails so we couldn’t see how high to cut. They’re so good and he never fussed when they do it. x

You are doing such a good job! Can tell Barney Is a well loved and looked after little pup! Look forward to seeing him grow❤️❤️ The harness you have for him now is perfect but maybe be aware that harnesses with the cross bar like the bigger one you have can restrict their shoulder movement can can cause strain and injury🥺 best to try and keep to Y front harnesses❤️❤️

I was exhausted the first week yes!!! 😂 with several toilet breaks a night and a complete life flip, I was tired, sorry I wasn't my usual 100% energy!

I'd recommend using the words 'take it' when you release them from 'leave it' it works from my two, then they know it's time to take it xx loved watching this xx

Barney is gorgeous and very smart for a puppy. I'm sure he just melts your heart. I love that you treat him like a part of your family and not just a pet. I've always had dogs and spoiled them rotten. We have a 13 yr old pocket beagle and she definitely is the ruler of the house. She is very precious. She is totally attached to my son like Velcro. She sleeps with him and has to be wherever he is in the house. I cook for her and buy her meat from the deli counter. She's our princess lol.

Noticed yougot baby wipes for cleaning up messes, we actually use baby nappy sacs as they are scented and often find are cheaper that dog poo bags.

He’s so beautiful 🥰 we have a black Labrador and we found a toy in b&m that you put water in and pop in the freezer I think they have the more summer time. We also put treats and water in a plastic container and freeze it... it really helped with her teething and great for summer too. Good luck with the teething! Don’t freak out and cry like I did when you find little teeth around your house 😂 xx

I think most vets do something called pet plan which is a annual charge that covers all injections, flea and worm tablets and clips nails. We feel like it’s worth it 😊 he’s coming on a treat xx

Buy a dremmel. Leave it on near him so he gets used to it. It’s the easiest way to trim the claws

Hi Freya! Omg..how do you get anything done in the day with that adorable pup! Barney you're just one big cuddle bug! 🐶 I remember buying most of those things when our dog Penelope was a puppy as well. Although she does still use pee pads indoors for any accidents and whenever it's just too hot or cold outside in this extreme Texas weather. Try looking for the Pedipaw motorized nail filer. It will scare him in the beginning, but eventually he'll get used to it when you use it every 2-3 weeks or so. Thanks for sharing. Much love from Fort Worth! 😊🐾💜❄

Hey Freya just to pre warn you, my little man reacts to Huggins wipes, so they are not as pure as they make out, be careful if you are using on Barney. My last two sons also reacted badly to their nappies, so they have a bad track record. The nappies have since mysteriously been taken off the shelves. The wipes have caused a chemical burn on my boys skin 😢 my kids do have sensitive skin so not sure if any one else has had an issue.

Lovely video

You should be able to find a nail clipper specifically for dogs and cats that you place their claw inside the circle and there is a metal plate their claw rests on so it is impossible to cut the nail too short. They also cut in a circle around the claw which is better because using clippers can split their nail. See if you can find them at a pet store. Here in the States Pet Smart and Petco both carry them. Let me know if you can't and I will get you a pair and mail them. I will leave my e-mail address on your e-mail site.
