Bonnie was a customer of mine years ago, first when I worked at Kroger’s grocery store and then after I changed jobs and became a bank teller. She was an amazing woman, had the most pleasant personality and could do absolutely anything. Bonnie was definitely an inspiration. 🤗

My 1st grade teacher showed this to our class on reel-to-reel back in 1980. It was good perspective to discover that people with disabilities don't want everybody to rush to their aid to help. I also love it when she said she liked to laugh at herself. As an able-bodied (though not always able-minded) person, I was once not able to laugh at myself, but instead was very hyper-critical of both myself and others. I once lived in a world of constant criticism, which engendered a good measure of self-hatred. Now, anytime I find myself bumbling around, making mistakes, screwing everything up, or simply just being me, I'm able to take a deep breath and laugh at myself, realizing that I'm simply human. Being able to laugh at yourself instead of taking life so seriously sure takes a huge load off your shoulders and as a result life comes much more simply. God bless Bonnie.

I bet her feet are cleaner than your hands. [Edited to add:] And in fact: "When queried by [Mike] Wallace [from CBS's _60 Minutes_ ] about what she thought viewers would think of a woman handling food with her feet, Consolo quickly countered that she washed her feet more frequently than most people washed their own hands."
