A day in the life of An Aviation Machinist Mate on a NAVY Ship

It's quite hard to find information on what Aviation Machinist mates do on a US Navy ship, but this video would help you understand, as it's about me waking up to my alarm and getting dressed to start Night shift which starts at 1900 (7pm) and ends 0700 (7am)
the views are breathtaking, the tasks performed are unique, the information share is one of a kind, and the way the footage was shot is thoughtful.
As an AViation machinist mate also known as "AD," we are known for servicing engines with oil, like that's all we do, don't be fooled, we do more than that, depending on what platform you're assigned to.

@romeothegucii I am not sure of the details, but he fell off the boat. He was presumed deceased a couple of weeks ago by the navy.

Very informative! These videos really help to show what being in the Navy is like. I’m prior service Army and in the process of joining and have no idea what any of the rates actually do. Thanks for posting this.

I made it thought last summer, it’s not as bad if you just listen, do what you’re told, and stay motivated. I’m an AD it’s a pretty cool experience though I got spoiled since my platform and squadron don’t go on ships very often.

You’ll love and hate it all at the same time, depends on your rate, and what squadron you get sent to.
