I didn’t think it was possible to appreciate such small things like a shuttle to work, a free cafeteria, free vending machines, and a zen garden. Meta does have one of the most beautiful office spaces. Loved the video, thanks for sharing ❤️

10:00 - Arrives at work, 11:00 - Goes to have lunch, 13:30 - Goes to eat, 15:00 - Returns from eating, 17:30 - Leaves for home. Actual working time 5 and a half hours. No wonder they’re firing everyone…

Imagine in those 5:30 hours there was like 2 hours of meetings, which is mostly status update and in other 2 hours remaining replying to emails/chats. I think the actual coding is like for half an hour or less. Also the office can like house thousands of employees and is virtually empty. Imagine the electricity, food and other resources getting wasted for a handful of people.

Having worked my entire career in the forest industry I am amazed how different our days are. Up by 0500, in the woods by 0700, very quick lunch at 1200, back to work 1230 and wrap up about 1700.
This is me everyday too. What people don't see is the actual work we do, apart from the perks and food.

Thing is we can live without that "Actual work" Meta isn't necessary as a company. If FB was gone today, people would actually have to communicate with people in their circle. It be for the best.

I retired as a doctor and started investing in the stock market because of dividends. What matters, in my opinion, is that if you invest and earn more money in addition to dividends, you will be able to live off of dividends without selling. It implies that you can pass that on to your children, giving them a head start in life. I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks over the years; I continue to buy more today and will continue to do so until the price lowers even further.

It's always inspiring to hear from a veteran doctor and investor who has weathered the storm and come out on top. When your portfolio turns from green to red, it might be unsettling, but if you have invested in great companies, you should just keep adding to them and stick with your plan.

I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over 1.5 million dollars working with an investment coach for more than two years

I did some work at a facebook data center for a little bit. Free breakfast and lunch made and scooped to you by hand everyday by the chefs. Different meals every day as well, included a dessert too. Freshly squeezed orange juice every morning, snack stations at any time; coffee, energy drinks, soda, lunchables, chips, granola bars, you name it. They also had game rooms with consoles, arcades, etc.

Man look at how empty every place in the office is. Basically the amount of work, the lack of genuine enjoyment from work and interaction with workers, and the cost of living near the office isn’t worth working at the office anymore even with the amenities.
This is amazing ,love the music!
Thank you Apurva for this video! Wish you more success in the future!!
What were your top languages before landing your meta job? I only know c++ at intermediate level and need to build new projects to get a job. Thanks you!
What exam did you gave?(jee-Adv) or any other And from which University you did your Software engineering??
I'm just going to start my software engineering in data science ... I too want to get into such companies having work culture like meta... Could anyone please guide me the right path to follow to become efficient enough to get placed in such a company 😊
I really appreciate your job culture, it's really awesome. Your hardwork and luck is working now..❤
eat breakfast till 10:00, snack at 11am, meeting, then lunch at 1pm, meeting, walk exercise, then snack again, do little work then head home by 5:30pm? Wow, in the office for 7 hours, but 2 hours meeting, work for 2 hours, and the rest of the time spent for eating and personal breaks? No wonder Meta did clean house, and looks like there are more to sweep.
Meta looks like a great place to work! It's probably a good thing I can't go and get unlimited cupcakes with my WFH job 🤣. Great video Apurva!

I've seen a few of these videos from different creators and I'm wondering does everyone just work like 2 hours and eat and have meetings the rest of the time? Cause from my stand point on the videos it really seems that way. I know you all have to be coding all day sometimes. Please enlighten me on this matter for it has me wondering.
@mkloven101

That is what they do lol. They don’t for the majority of the time code all day long. Confirmed with my coder friend. Lots of down time, lots of “meetings,” free food etc etc. it’s basically a daycare, work for a couple hours and fuck off the rest of the time, why do you think zuckerburg let go of all those people, same thing for twitter, you don’t need thousands upon thousands of people to keep facebook up or twitter etc. just a waste of money
