whats the pay compare like between private and NHS
@daniellowephysio
11 ай бұрын
The NHS pays £17.24 an hour as a band 6 physiotherapist, £16.73 as a band 5 (new physio). My private work charges £45 for 45 minutes, £55 for an hour. Hope this helps. I know some physios charge a lot more privately, upwards of £130 an hour!

For the most part I have weekends off, sometimes I work a Saturday morning if I want to. I do about 50 hours a week at the moment out of choice, I could work 30 and be fine financially 😊

Short but informative video mate , i am currently studying to become a PT, i am wondering if you know anything regarding how to become a PT in uk with a foreigner degree (Peru)? Maybe a masters first to get hooked up in the system? Btw i am also holding a EU passport. Thanks

The benefit of masters is it is a shorted degree (2 years rather than 3) so if you already have a degree this may be a great option!

How many patients at once will you have to see? I am an American PT, and there are times when I will have 3-4 or even 5 patients at once! I’m super burned out.
@daniellowephysio

I only ever see one client at a time, normally a full day is anywhere between 7 and 13 patients, bear in mind some days are busier than others. Do you see these patients at the same time?
@DaRk_UbIqUiTy
Ай бұрын
@@daniellowephysio yes, just yesterday I had 4 patients for follow up and then I had to get a new evaluation started. So, I had the 4 patients needing to finish up their session. Luckily, I had a tech to help them do their exercises. Often times, patients see a tech more than they see me. It’s a sad state of affairs.

@@DaRk_UbIqUiTy that is ridiculous, how can you be expected to accurately document the notes with that many patients at once. If you have flexibility to do so, I’d drop it to 1 person at a time 🤯

Hi mate, really enjoyed the video, i was wondering why you chose to do both NHS and private and not just one or the other?
@daniellowephysio

A few reasons really. first was I wanted to get the experience in the NHS, and as long as I'm still learning, I'm happy. Secondly, I wanted to start my own clinic, but that requires money, so the NHS funds that at the moment, whilst the private clinic is building up.
