Currently working on my 225 hrs at an OBGYN office. I enjoy it, however the only con is that i dont have access to the computer. For the most part I set up rooms, stock, and lurk over ppl on the computer 😂. I try to take as many notes as possible though. I feel if they gave me access to the system I'd be a Beast!

I hit that subscribe button so fast! Thinking about MA career and found you. I’m a wife and mom of 3 children and baybee that was all I needed to hear. Funny enough when you cursed at the driver, I was like, “She gotta be in TX somewhere!” 🤣 We just came back from a family vacay to Houston and while we absolutely loved the food, diversity and HEB. Girl you have to have a vehicle that got some go to love in that city for sure! 😅

For someone whose in their late 20s that wants to be an RN what do you recommend that they start out with first as far as phlebotomist, medical assistant, CNA and then eventually RN what do you recommend that they start out with first? My end goal is to become an RN and work in the PICU and the adult ICU as of this last hospital stay this is the only hospital stay that has moved me to want to become an RN I spent the entire month of September in the hospital I even celebrated my birthday there I enjoyed watching the nurses do what they did to me I miss the room I had up in the PICU and I miss the view of the river I had. I've looking into different jobs that I can do I've been thinking about starting out as a phlebotomist and then going to CNA and then eventually RN I'm also thinking about throwing in medical assistant. So what my question is what do you recommend that I start out with first? I've started watching videos on the different medical fields to try get a little bit of education I know that I need to go to medical school to get the training so that I can do it. Back when I was in tech school up in Dexter never thought that I would want to go into the medical field the same with job Corps I never thought back then that I would want to go into the medical field and now I'm kicking myself in the ass for not taking the nursing course that was up at tri-county and I'm kicking myself in the ass for not taking the nursing program that was up at job Corps back when I was there. I really wish I had taken both of those programs. But I'm not taking no for an answer. I still have my side hobbies those aren't going anywhere I'm keeping them I've even started putting them on the side and started Concentrating on my future education. I know what I want for college degrees I want my BSN and the MSN I wasn't planning on working in a doctor's office but I've been told that that's where medical assistants start out I also like the idea of having work pay for me to go to school. Thank you for posting this video it helped me realign my future goals.

Hi Andrea! I am a CMA also of 10 years and I am in the LPN program as we speak. I will be graduating next month and I am so excited! You mentioned LVN's, are you in California or Texas? I know those are the two states that have LVN's instead of LPN's. They both are the same just different recognitions. My husband and I are actually contemplating on moving to Texas. We shall see between now and this time next year. Great content!

I started my externship this Monday 04/25 it's been 3 days of NOTHING! Day one I sat on a stool and watched the check out girls schedule follow ups I can't get hands on because I am not an employee and can't have access to the epic system. Day two appointment confirmation calls and having patients sign in for their appointments (a random person off the street can do that). Day 3 Triaged 3 patients, highlighting paperwork, wiped down chairs. The clinic is too busy to train me and my classmate 😩 I hate it I feel like it's such a waste of time!

Can you get training become a medical assistant and right away go for ob/gy or you have to wait just like nursing to to go specialties

  • @andreaalise

No you are able to apply to any specialist that you prefer. Most OB/GYN would like some experience but many are willing to train ✨
