@Leo there are microwaves in japan that are both microwaves and toaster ovens. You take out the metal plate when you want to use it as a microwave and change the mode.

Love from India.
The Japanese style of minimalist aesthetics is fascinating to me. It's clearly distinct from from post-WWII Western minimalism and Scandinavian minimalism - Japanese minimalism is unmistakably Japanese and has a long history, culture and philosophy. It gets a lot of things right that Western minimalism and simple living doesn't. I also greatly appreciate Japan's love of craftsmanship (takumi), imperfection (wabi-sabi), space (ma, tokoro, ba, and wa), and the Japanese arts of refinement: kodo (incense appreciation), ikebana (flower arranging), and chado (tea ceremony). There are some parallels in the West but they aren't as culturally entrenched.
I'm sorry, this guy is so attractive it hurts. 😍

A nice young man. Freedom from possessions allows for other things in life. The time working for the money to buy, maintain, and care for objects becomes time to live doing other things. I've spoken to homeless people and some said they feel free from burden of possessions
I stumbled across this video midway through a bit of a mental "I am a terrible person, everyone else has their lives together and mine is a mess" spiral, and started watching it feeling bad and expecting the video to make me feel worse (as most of these videos are of incredibly unattainable or highly productive lifestyles!). Instead, it started with the phrase "I don't do anything" and instant coffee. I know you'll likely never see this comment, but thank you so much for making this video - it's so refreshing to see a more "normal" day in the life video. As soon as I'd watched the first 30 seconds, I started to feel better (your voice is so soothing!). You seem like such a lovely, genuine person - I'm now subscribed, and am looking forward to following and supporting your journey through KZread!

Lol most people don’t have their life figured out
I don't define minimalism as "not doing anything" but in taking joy in the small moments of experience in life like reading, gardening, art, walks in nature, etc.
i love drinking coffee and went on to make an instant coffee! HAHHAAHAHA i was expecting some barista shit!
I remember John Lennon said that minimalism is the solution to a happy life and it's budget friendly.

Wow, you don't say. It seemed that when he and Yoko Ono were Married and living in The Dakota, he had a sense of calmness and peace a real Zen quality. He learned about Budget Friendliness when The Beatles were still in litigation over their breakup and his Accounts like Paul's were Frozen.

This was a very fresh approach to minimalism, thank you! I appreciate your honesty and openness about your life and minimalism.
"I don't do anything." That's a thumbs up from me.
This guy is so attractive! I really like the minimalist lifestyle, unfortunately, my family are hoarders! They make my place so cramp up.. it’s horrendous! I’m constantly packing after them but its never enough.
You have helped me find more peace. I suffer from ptsd and many other issues from the service and being minimal feels so good to me that I am able to pick up and leave and no one would know i was ever here.

Great content man! Hope you keep putting stuff out there.
Amazing blog man! Looking forward to new videos!
This is so (unexpectedly) real that I kinda love it for that side alone. This guy drinks instant coffee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally can see myself in it. Then the idea of "many people become professionals and have a lot of knowledge in their field even when they don't like it simply because they show up everyday at work" really kicks me. It's a very rational and responsible way to look at the job that comes to our hands and treat it with respect whether it'd be of our taste or not. A very condense and useful 11-minutes video. Wishing you all the best with your KZread journey ♡
Haha! Even before you mentioned NZ I was like, that accent sounds very familiar... I’m a kiwi 😊

This is a great video and thank you! I’m having trouble being minimalist or organized lol but this is a great way to learn on how to become a better person.

New subscriber here from Manila Philippines. I started to be a minimalist after loosing a job because of the pandemic. Now I am very much contented with I have it inspires me more to do great things and have more time with friends and family. Not having much and living a simple life gives me more happiness. Looking forward for more videos and tips from you. Keep up the good work!
I love your aspect. Flighting!!!
Great insightful video. Enjoyed your thoughts on minimalism. Also, strangely, I immediately noticed the flat “i” sounds of your New Zealand accent. G’day from a new Aussie subscriber :)
I've thought of sleeping on a shikibuton. I have disc injuries in my back and lower neck. Supposedly a firm bed would be helpful. I'm 41 and in Texas. Of course, I also like how minimal it is. I like the feel of rooms with only floor seating too. Very nice!
This must have taken so long to film and edit 😅 I hope you enjoy the process! I tend to really dislike filming and editing typical KZread videos that involve presenting an idea with talking. It takes so much effort to make a video that communicates effectively but is also aesthetically pleasing and creatively filmed and edited. So good job! I hope it pays off. You clearly have done the work.

I have the same sign on my door reminding me to wear a mask 😅 just in case. This video provides such a helpful perspective for me, as I am planning on moving to Japan next year, and have been paring down little by little over the years in preparation. I am not really a fan of minimalism because I find joy in deciding what to wear/eat and spontaneity. A lot of minimalists on social media are very harsh and austere (imo) with their approach too. But I instantly subscribe to your channel upon watching this very first video because your approach to minimalism is so relaxing and liberating. 💖
Very nice vídeo. Thanks
I love he attaches “mask” notification on his front door haha
Great video! You just got yourself a meeting subscriber! :)
Great video brother
i was searching for minimalist ideas and then found this handsome man's channel, then i clicked follow
I like how he’s being honest with what he say and do. I tried minimalism way back 2017 and I stopped just recently because I find myself very empty. Today I rather called myself Naturalist because of how I tried to balance both side of the system. I try to keep an eye of myself not to live in clutter as well as avoid to much emptiness, just balance.

Balance is the most important value that I wanna develop in my life. When I was 15 years old, I realized that drink a lot of water is dangerous (Yeah, I was too naive). I didn't understand why, but at the age of 17 - one year ago- a friend told me this phrase: "The dose makes the poison" - Paracelso. It was moment I understood that many things in our lives have to be moderate, and I'm talkin' 'bout nutrition, exercise, work, lifestyle, life philosophy, etc. In a nutshell, I tell myself: don't be radical, just tryna find things that work for u:).
