You are absolutely right, nothing is important than answering for the Divine call. I am a young priest just 1 year of service. I love my vocation and the service. I work in a remote are in Ethiopia and i love my vocation. Dear bro, i have a very nice choice. Prayer is the key for your response, so take time to pray and u will in my prayers.

Wow nice to see young people in the seminary. I am a newly ordained priest and i love my vocation. Its also a pleasure to see young men in the seminary. People speak about the close of seminaries because of lack of new generation, but after seeing this video i changed my mind that God can call even the youngest of our generation. Praised be God.

@@sacredheartwads I wish I could explore these paths. No one helps me or knows. I'm very beyond the point I even could explore them, I feel damned. I know there's no one coming to help, I'm not like others who get shepherded by their friends, family, parish into this. I have none of the above connected to the Church. I don't even think there is a way within the Church's requirements for me to do this, I can't even go to Confession which means I can't receive the Eucharist which means I'm cut off from God.

I pray for all seminarians and all the priests everyday❤❤❤🎉🎉😊😊😊

I graduated from Borromeo in 1977. It has changed a lot. You're using the High School Chapel? I think I heard St Mary's moved on to the campus also. Times have changed I truly loved that place and everyday that I spent there. God bless you son, stay close to Him.

I never thought of seminarians commuting; I always thought they lived on campus. Anyway, it's heartwarming to see you have so much fun. It's nice to see that seminarians can be both students and boys at the same time. But you must have more than once class per day...

Jon, thank you for sharing and making this great video, of your daily life as a seminarian! You made it very special and also enjoyable. I also found out that you and I have something in common, besides our deep love for Jesus and h is Blessed Mother .......I can't swim, either! I had a very dear childhood friend, Fr. Gary Weisnberger, who saved my life, when I was drowning in the deep end of a swimming pool, when I was a 16 year old minor seminarian. He'd always say to me: "Charlie, you're a great swimmer, alright - just like a ROCK, straight to the bottom!" RIP, my dear friend Fr. Gary, who died last Sept. 4th of terrible mouth cancer. I want to be Priest but my parents are to old and the seminary collage is far from my home. But throughout this I still have to carry my cross.

I wish to join you

I write to my diocese about my desire to explore my vocational calling and hear nothing back from them... very sad. I don't have any Catholic connections anymore, not family, not friends. I just want to give it all to God and I'll never know if this call is real or not. It's probably not, long story, but I still have the desire but no one in the Church helps me to explore it.

The biggest issue for me with modern day Novus Ordo seminaries (and I experienced this when I was in the seminary) was the lack (and often ban) on seminarians wearing clericals. You want men to grow into holy priests? Then let them dress like it.

@@jeremiahong248 I'm sorry that is not correct. Even during and after the year of mercy further faculties were extended to the SSPX by Pope Francis. He himself has confirmed that there is an "irregular canonical status" though that is very different from being schismatic.

Poorly formatted seminarians I presume Every priest that hasn’t prayed the rosary daily is most likely to leave the priesthood.

Go watch the Institute of Christ the King Seminary and the Society of Saint Pius the X Day in the life of a seminarian. Vastly different much more order.

I was in the Novus Ordo seminary for a number of year before I went to the TLM, and the differences (at least in Australia) are stark and quite profound. I think it's best to produce a video and image that shows the serious transcendent nature of the faith. I don't doubt that your heart and intentions for this video are in the right place. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee life is great in the Seminary hooooooo ray, hey you guys woot woot, what you dont hear about is the seminarian who got busted smoking pot, or the seminarian who quit, an on an on. what you never get told is that the Catholic Church doesn't help you get back on your feet if the decision is to kick you out of the seminary for any reason, or you decide to leave for any reason. No one tells you to have a back up plan just in case. it's just all praise the lord and weeeeeeeeeee, and when shit hits the fan it is all, wooooooo k well ill pray for you, byeeeeeee. there needs to be a day in the life of the Catholic who is poor , living on the street and doesn't know if they will have anything to eat today, or when they will get to take a shower and sleep in a bed. If you want a happy go lucky sun shine channel, make it private so people in the public cant take a giant dump on your sunshine.

This is a “Society Seminary” seminary of the world. People are moving away from the V2/ NO to the TLM. Please check out St. Thomas of Aquinas Seminary

I agree. My diocese recently said that they had zero seminarians! Zero! However, the TLM Mass in the same city is booming and I have heard the Christ the King seminary is growing daily. I don’t know why someone would go for the Vat II seminary but maybe it’s just not for me to comprehend. I wish this young man all the best!

Why are Catholic priests so goofy and charismatic. I find it hard to see Christ in a giggly, barely pubescent, spiritually shallow jokester. The Priesthood, and preparation for such, should be taken with greater fear and trembling.

That's a bit harsh. We can't tell what he's truly thinking or what's in his heart although he seems very likeable and kind....and he is young & still developing/discerning. Although it made me stop and think that the role of the priest above all else is to get souls to Heaven, and that a priest has to be held to a higher standard.

@@williamkelly8026 You're right, I don't know what is in his heart, or what he is thinking. He does also seem very likeable and kind. That which I find to be spiritually harmful is the lack of spiritual bearing present within the identity of the Roman Catholic Priesthood for many priests today. This issue I do believe may start at seminary. Men who are called by God to lead his flock are entrusted with the salvation of His people, this isn't a light task. While a priest ought be humble and relatable, he ought not confuse himself as an assistant or advisor, he is the Icon of Christ for his flock. When the flock is suffering from worldliness and materiality, the priest is then responsible for calling the people from a recognition of the fallen world, back towards a mindfulness and recognition of God. This is chiefly done through his office in the form of the sacraments. All of this requires an extremely sincere and mature spiritual bearing which ought to be approached with fear and trembling.
