@@samawiakousar1825 Of course, so I went to school in Germany, this year I passed my Abitur with the highest great possible. Furthermore I sat an exam called “TMS”, it’s a test for students who want to study medicine in Germany. I was among the best participants. In the end these results gave me the possibility to study at the University of Heidelberg.

Sorry to say that, but I do not think that this video represents the University of Heidelberg very well or maybe even at all. Everything you see is about an "outsourced" Campus for Medicine of the University of Heidelberg, which is in Mannheim.

@@jasonvoorhees8899 this campus is not in Heidelberg but in the neighbouring city of Mannheim. Mannheim has their own university itself. If you want to see life in Heidelberg, studying in Heidelberg, etc, it's best to choose a course or campus in Heidelberg

Yes that's nice, but it's NOT Heidelberg, it's in Mannheim and the medical school Mannheim is totally independent from the famous medical school in Heidelberg lol

@@jasonvoorhees8899 No. There are two Universities in Mannheim and Heidelberg: Mannheim University (based in Mannheim Palace) and Heidelberg University, respectively. You can't study Medicine at Mannheim University, but Heidelberg University has two totally independent Medical Faculties, one in Heidelberg (this is the old prestigous Heidelberg Medical School) and one in Mannheim (rather new and usually not referred to as Heidelberg University). So actually she's a Mannheim student at the University of Heidelberg. The city shown in the video is Mannheim, not Heidelberg. Don't be deceived, Heidelberg is much nicer.

@@limayankee1143 Are the Expectations in Mannheim so much lower as in Heidelberg? Im from a city near by Heidelberg and was last year on a Student Information -Event. And nobody cared Mannheim Medicine.

It was free (no tuition) when I was there (during my "Promotion" in Klassische Philologie. I spent a lot of time preparing for Zwischenprüfungen which I actually did not need to take since I already had my M.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle. At Heidelberg all I really needed to do was write the dissertation (which I wrote and finally published in 2002. My Diss. Supervisor (or "Doktorvater" was Prof. Dr. Michail von Albrecht).

Zaina Cottup You have to pay a fee for each semester, it’s currently 171,75€ as long as you are a citizen of one of the EU or EWR Countries. If that’s not the case then other fees may apply to you. If you aren’t able to pay the fees in full you may be eligible for a discount, but I’m not sure if that is true. If you are not a citizen of one of the EU or EWR/EEA (FYI EWR and EEA is the same) then this may apply to you: “International students from non-EU (European Union) and non-EEA (European Economic Area - Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway) countries with a foreign university entrance qualification will be required to pay a tuition fee of EUR 1500 per semester.” If you want to know more about it check out : www.uni-heidelberg.de/en/study/management-studies/tuition-fees/tuition-fees-international-students For the other ones who are a citizen of a EU or EWR Country check out: www.uni-heidelberg.de/en/study/management-studies/tuition-fees/fees-study-heidelberg-university You might want consider checking that stuff on the Website again though since I don’t go to University over there.

You will need to know basic maths for your physics classes, but there are no math classes

Most younger Germans (anyone under 50) speak very good English as they start learning in Elementary school. Especially if you are smart enough to study medicine your language skills are expected to be very good. Most German High School students as the college prep high schools (gymnasium) speak at least two other languages other than German fluently. I know this as we lived in Germany and my American children attended German schools. Their friends English was excellent. My daughter is now fluent in German and she also picked up French at a high standard but lost a lot of it in the USA as language teaching is a much lower standard here unfortunately. She is now studying at one of the best public universities in the USA and tested out of Freshman German even though she hasn't been in Germany since the age of 14. She is studying a double major of Psychology and German.

@@jasonvoorhees8899 In Germany, public universities are pretty much on the same level concerning the teaching, especially in Medicine. Obviously, Heidelberg has some great researchers, but so do many other universities. Heidelberg recently had a major media scandal, so in fact, the university might lose its status as a German excellence university. (I doubt it will happen, but we'll find out more next week.)
