A day in the Lake District
Today we planned a hike in Buttermere to tick off two more Wainwright's, the circular walk was shy of 6km and included Fleetwith pike and Haystacks.
we had planned the walk and walk the plan
However.....
even with checking the mountain weather forecasts the snow came in quicker than we had anticipated approximately half way through the walk and knowing we'd have to summit another peak we decided to adopt the evac plan and decend as soon as we could.
Although we were prepared in terms of gear and supplies the snow changed our ETA which would've meant walking in the dark and at this time it was easier to work with the facts we had in front of us now rather than work a plan with so many variables later on.
Plan B it was.

On our way down we took time to consolidate in Warnscale Bothy and met a couple planning on staying the night there. A truly magical thing is a Bothy!

Well that was quite the adventure, high winds and snow and a stop off in the bothy for a warm up by the fire👏 nice one mate catch you in the next one
