I graduated as a pre-med student and I’m now really reflecting on what I REALLY want to do. I’ve always wanted to be a journalist, but was never able to pursue it due to my parents pushing medicine on me. Now that I’m graduated, I don’t know how to move forward. Anyone have any advice on how to maybe try to weave my way into journalism?

Hello people! I know this would be a random question but I need your help! So I’m between two different careers one is journalism/communication and the other is interior design I know they are totally different... but I just like both and is so complicated for me because the go in two different paths. So I like to write and I think I am good at it and I would like to do documentaries but I also love decorating, furniture, spaces etc... I’m not a good at drawing or doing like manual things but I don’t mind doing them. Any advice please???😭

Remember that whichever major you choose you will get to learn more about it and become better at it so don’t worry about that at all. I think you should focus more on what you enjoy rather than what you are better at which could help you choose I guess

I think journalism would be easier to get a career in if that’s a factor that matters to you. Honestly I’d talk to an academic advisor or counselor about it because they can help you decide what mix of minors and majors best suit you and give you more options after college. I knew I wanted to teach or be an editor so I sat down with my academic advisor and talked about what minors to add to my English Major and even grad school programs because I could study education or writing there as well before starting a career. They are really well versed in the programs and are there to help figure out what’s best for you! :)

I mean that's something that is different to everybody, so talking to a counsellor or something like that would be a good idea. But I will say that you don't need a degree to be a writer/journalist. I often heard that some of the best journalists are the ones who didn't study journalism (and I say that as somebody who studies communication/journalism) but you usually do need some form of training/a degree to be a interior designer.

This one dog made me so sad. How can you buy a dog and give it away after ONE YEAR?!? Like the poor dog, it probably was looking forward to live in a great, lovely home but ended up in a cage :( My dog is three and the thought of her being alone and not knowing that she would never go back home again would be breaking my heart so badly.
